Title: Will Rising Drill #1 Work for Me?
Post by: 800bowler300 on October 25, 2007, 10:30:53 AM
Hey. This question is because I am really looking foward to drilling a Rising. However, I was wondering if the standard drilling would work for me. I have a fairly high track and sometimes have problems tracking the fingers of pin down layouts. Does this matter on the Rising? This is the first ball I've ever seen with a recommended pin down layout, which is why I ask.

Also, what would an mb placement 2 in from the grip do in comparison to the recommended 3 in? Placement at 2 in is usually my strongest position, but is that true on this ball?

I can get either a short or long pin, so the best recommended layout for me is what I am looking for. I want this ball to be the strongest in the mids and backend possible.

Please help me out. I am going to be laying one out on Monday, and could really use this help before I drill it. Thanks.

4 3/4" and 1/4" up. I am really just looking for a general answer though. I am mainly curious about the pin under drill hitting the fingers for me. That drill is supposed to be if you are not using the bowler's PAP. That is why I am asking. Help me, please.

When at the seminar Ron H. stated himself that for higher track players, you wont clip your fingers with the layout given. While throwing my rising with the standard layout aginst my epic saga. I found that the flare bow ties were in differrent locations. The top bow tie on the rising was at least 1" differrent from where the sagas was.

Thank you. That is what I was worried about. I have always wanted to take advantage of a pin down drill's aggressive midlane without hitting the fingers. I can do it with this ball then.

Now, can anyone advise me on the difference between the suggested 3 in mb layout and if I placed it at 2 in instead?
