Exception & GP2 Maintainence
« on: May 21, 2005, 12:36:46 AM »
I just bought a GP2 & an Exception. Any tips on how I
should I clean & maintain and how often? These are my first Track balls in a while. Thanks!

I have the GP2. I clean with Track Clean & Dull after every bowling session. (3-4-5-etc. games). I use a Gray Scotch Brite Pad to spread the Clean & Dull over 1/2 of the ball at a time. I use circular motions with the pad and use ZERO pressure on it. (light enough to not leave any scratches/sanding lines, etc.) In other words you don't want to change the ball's cover. I leave the C & D on for 30-60 seconds and I wipe it off with a damp towel. I then dry the ball with a dry towel. I believe some people wipe the C & D off with a dry towel and then wipe ball with a wet towel, but I'm not sure. Either way will work. This will keep the ball in a NIB condition. I've had mine for 2 1/2 months or so and it still looks NIB today.

On the Xception, I don't have one, but EXCALIBER, tenspinspro or Clint Daley will chime in here and give you instructions. However, DO NOT use a Scotch Brite Pad on this ball like the GP2 when cleaning. Without hearing from them and if it was my ball, I would use a small soft cloth to apply the C & D and then wipe off like you do the GP2. This is how I clean my pearlized balls.

The method that Brickguy uses on the GP2 is the best way to keep it clean.

For Xception and polished balls I like to use a spinner and a soft cloth OR if you can find a white scotch brite you can do it in the same manner that Brickguy described. Just be sure to apply very little pressure.

a memo too all TRACK br users, if you want Clean & Dull too be more useful put a mist of water with the product on a towel or cloth, it magnifies the tacky surface.  I live where Track polishes were started and the maker showed this too me and it is awesome stuff.

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS
