New Ball Help or Ideas
« on: October 03, 2005, 07:57:09 PM »
I have a original Track Rule which I love and hate at times pin above the bridge.  I have my Track Exception pin above the ring finger.  Well make a story short.  I bowl in my club championship yesterday and average 168.  I am very upset with it since the first start i average 218 for six games.  The exception did break but 10 boards but no hitting power.  Rule play up five hook too much then play up 7 board didn't break at all.  This is new fresh lane.  I did play with a almost pro guy here in Germany and I was thinking he may push the oil out to my line so I could not play it at all.  So what would be a good ball for this situation or longer oil when the ball don't carry at all?

Hey shao, you are describing what we call over/under or black/white.  If 5 board can hook, you have to hit it but much later downlane (45+ feet) and not early like you said.  I understand this may not be your style or game but it is one way to play this type of condition.

Another way is to use a softer cover ball like our GP2 which may roll thru the oil line at 7 board and offer you some kind of reaction.  Having a softer coverstock will also allow you more room to play this type of condition vs the fine line that you are describing now.  Hope this helps explain some...

I agree with Rick here as it sounds lots like a over/under shot. To help tread the oil, a ball like the GP2, Arsenal Aggressive, or Blue Heat (all solid particles to help get the ball started earlier than a reactive) will help you out.
