« on: February 01, 2005, 01:34:49 PM »
For those of you who have thrown both, what are the main differences between these two balls? I basically want to know about overall strength of hook and the shape of the hook. lmk please.

Matt,

I have not thrown both, but I have seen a guy throw each....they are pretty close, but it seems like the Xception is a bit stronger when it encounters oil. He was playing a deep line with each....starting the ball out at about 25 and getting it to about 10 board as his breakpoint----------when he missed left with them the Xception finished harder.

Hope this helps,

I have thrown both balls and for my style, the backyard bully just works bettter for me. The xception was always a bit tough for me to read on some lane conditions and the backyard bully is very easy to read and very smooth all the way down the lane and not quite as jumpy as the xception was..

The first 12 games I used the BY bully, I averaged 230 + with 3 270 games..

By the way, I ended up selling the xception, its a good ball, just didn't match up well for me..
