Yep, I am obsessed!!!
« on: April 16, 2006, 11:31:39 PM »
Well, decided before the state tourney this weekend to fill a few gaps in my arsenal....I punched up Robo Rules #9 and #10! Here is what I already had with pics of the layouts below the descriptions. I wanted something with the pin just above the fingers to help the ball get a few feet further down the lane. Mostly everything else I have is pin below/even with the fingers, around 2-2 3/4 above the midline...so for Robo #9 I decided to leave the factory surface on the ball and place the pin above the ring (about 3 1/4 inches above midline, 5 inches from PAP) with the mass bias swung out 1 3/4 from the VAL. Extra hole int he thumb quadrant on the VAL 2 inches below PAP. I had a Rock On drilled very similar to this (no mass bias on it though) and really like the way this ball handled oil. While it was not the best oil ball, games 2,3 or 2nd shift (which I bowl Saturday at Inter City) it killed....

Robo #10.....I decided to drill like an old Avenger I had. Ball got decent length and had a super move (had a high diff though). Placed the pin 1 1/4 from PAP, 1 3/4 above midline with the mass bias just right of the thumb alomst 5 inches from the VAL. Left the factory surface on. Ball is similar on a fresh shot to another Robo, but there is a difference and I am sure if I hit drier stuff, this one will shine. Did not get to throw it much due to the holiday and stuff, so can't give you a real great feel yet....

#1 Pin 2 inches above midline, 3 1/2 from PAP.....mass bias 3 1/2 from VAL, factory surface

#2 Same as #1 but has Delayed Reaction on it

#3 Pin 1 1/2 above midline, 5 1/4 from PAP, mb 2 1/2 from VAL, factory surface

#4 same as #3 but with Delayed Reaction

#5 Pin 2 above midline, 4 1/2 from PAP, mass bias 6 1/4 from VAL, factory surface

#6 same as #5 but with Delayed Reaction

#7 Pin 4 inches above midline, 5 1/4 from PAP, mass bias 5 inches from VAL, factory surface

#8 Pin 2 1/2 inches above midline, 6 inches from PAP, mass bias 5 inches from VAL, Delayed Reaction

(NEW) #9 Pin 3 1/4 above midline, 5 inches from PAP, mass bias 1 3/4 from VAL, factory surface.

(NEW) #10 Pin 1 3/4 above midline, 1 1/4 from PAP, mass bias 5 inches from VAL, factory surface

Agreed, my ball reaction was weird from the angle I was playing. Probably why I didn't shoot big, but had enough juice to constantly go 220-230....yeah....carrying the 10 in 5- 2 ball totes is a treat, especially when I am trying to do it all in one trip!

Clint,      10 balls......4 ball roller (2 and 2 stack), 2ball tote set on top with straps wrapped around handle to keep from sliding off, 2 ball tote over right shoulder(same arm to pull stack), 2 ball tote either over left shoulder or in hand depending if you have to open a swinging door or not.  To add more, ....2 ball tote on back (over shoulder and over head kinda like golf clubs) , 2  2ball totes over right pulling shoulder(elbow must keep pressure against over shoulder totes to keep from rolling off shoulder!), 2 ball tote over left shoulder and 2 ball tote in left hand. ( someone needs to get door )...= 16 balls ( my personal max)

I talked to a guy at nationals a couple years back (when it was in knoxville) who had gotten in a car wreck on his way down from New York.  He was in the pro shop buying 10 new bowling balls because he left the 37 balls that he was bringing with him in the car when it had gotten wrecked, so he need new stuff.

Me personally I have a 3-4 ball inline bag. For league I usually leave the 4th ball bag at home and take the 3 ball bag and a tote bag.  For tornament I add the 4th ball and also a joey to make it a 5 ball bag and still take my 2 ball bag.  I figure that if I can't figure it out with one of the 7 balls that I am taking that it wasn't ment for me to figure out.

The question isn't why do I throw all Track, it's why don't you.

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Slash, Xception, Heat Blast, Heat,  Desert Heat

I agree, that would be easier, however, I try to cut corners where possible, and my thoughts are this, I have 5 totes which can carry 10 balls....the 5 totes costs less than 1 4 ball roller would..., plus, the 4 ball roller can tip, run through snow/water ans get the surrounding area wet and then you walk in it...etc....I am just not a big fan of rollers...
