You Pick the Layouts!
« on: November 10, 2006, 04:36:53 PM »
HEY FASTTRACKERS!

I'm going to be developing 4 videos as a commerative collection showcasing some of Track's finest gems from the past. The 'Blast from the Past' showcase will feature the Triton Elite, Triple Threat, Phenom Unleashed, and Sheer Havoc. Before I can do this though, I must have the Sheer Havoc and PU replugged. This is where you THE FASTTRACKERS come into play. I want your ideas for layouts. Use whatever sources you may need, I have all my equipment information from layouts to pictures in my profile. My PAP is 5 over by 1 up as well. So, from Rick and and Carl to Sixcranker and Chewmiester, let's hear what you all have to say!

The Sheer Havoc uses the Power Rev Core and is wrapped with Fang Particle coverstock. The Pin placement on this ball is a 4" Pin. I was thinking of just going with a standard Pin Above the Ring Finger because according to Rick, this ball is skid/flippy!

The Phenom Unleashed uses the Morpheus 2.0 core minus the wing attachment at the bottom that was showcased in the original Phenom and is wrapped with Fang Particle RF. I intend to showcase the differences between the PU and Sheer Havoc because both have the Fang Particle cover with the only difference the PU having the RF formula. The PU has an estimate 1.5 to 2.5" Pin Placement and all three indicators (PIN, CG, MB) are slightly off line!

So with all that information, let's see what you FASTTRACKERS can throw at me. Depending upon the votes given for each of these two balls, I will decide Monday since that is when I will be getting them back hopefully and I can give the ideas to my pro shop guy BR user "mpwebber". Thank you for reading and thank you for all your ideas, comments, and suggestions ahead of time! God Bless You and let's have fun with this thread!

mike for the sheer havoc I would like to see you toss a drill on it with the pin above the bridge, and the cg really kicked out. I think that may work great on this super skid flip monster. For the phenom unleshed I would like to see it with a drilling that would use its ability to the best of its ability maybe something that is kinda like what I have on my robo or maybe a little sooner. I cant really say for the other two seeing how I cam into the use of this brand was after them.

Michael,

For the Sheer use your favorite layout. I didn't see it as being very skid/flippy. Rick often sees a ball slightly different than we would because the RGs and DIFFs change due to him using 8lb bowling balls....er, 14lbs . FOR ME it would roll decent in the mids and retain backend well.

The Unleashed.....if you really want to see what this ball can do drill it up close to how you have your favorite Robo. It is not as strong as the Robo and it is generally more smooth throughout the lane.

Goodluck,
Carl

Carl,

You do have a good point there buddy. I guess we all can't think about things at 5'4" I'm just messing with Rick! Well guys, I just want to say I really do appreciate all the feedback I've received. Here is what I've decided...

First off, Eric, if I had found the Sheer with the Pin and CG that close together, I would have gone with your 315 degree layout. Unforunately, it has a 4" Pin placement. Now some would say CG doesn't matter but I'm really wanting this piece to fit in the bag. So with the advice from Carl...I'm going to drill it with a 4 to 4 3/4" Pin Above the Ring Finger with the CG pretty stable. I may kick it out 1/2", but no more than that.

The Phenom Unleashed, I'm going to give it the layout I've had on the first two I've thrown before and that is Pin Below the Ring Finger, CG stable and the MB in the strongest position for my style possible. Thank you all for chiming in! God Bless You all and have a great week!

This little track club you have is quite dumb. Track stuff is pretty terrible as well. I'll give it to them then in the late 90's ealy 00's they had some good equipment but now a days, its a diffrent story.

I would like to hear your opinion about why you believe this 'club' as you say is dumb and why you believe the Track stuff now is 'terrible' as well. Without justification Tiddle this statement is nothing more than an opinion from one. Just a thought buddy! God Bless You and have a great week!

Well i will be strait with you Michael you seem like a very good person, unlike your buddy sixcranker. I honestly think Track's bowling balls do not compare to other companies out there ive thrown many of them and i was once in my life a "track fanatic" but the bowling balls the past2 years have been Sub-par and in my opinion and i know many others dont compare to the great stuff many other companies come out with. I will be real with you as well about the whole "track club" thing i think its stupid, sorry to say but i just do, its cool you guys like the company (even though balls are sub par) but make a club out of it is childish in my opinion. Try some of the new stuff coming out now days from companies like Ebonite Hammer Brunswick and Storm you wont be dissappionted and i really seriously think you will rethink the whole track rules all mentality.
 God bless you too Michael

Hey Tiddle,

In what way have the last two years worth of releases been 'sub par'? As far as saying the 'club' is childish...dude...what we have here is the "TRACK LEGION"...saying it is dumb is your opinion..but wouldn't you feel the same about what the loyal Brunswick followers have when they say the "Brunswick Nation"...and I'm saying this respectfully, this is NOT a knock on anyone who throws Brunswick or am I throwing a jab at the Brunswick forum...im NOT! This is just a thought once again buddy...

I made a choice to start throwing Track because I felt it is what has helped my game totally. I'll be honest and real with you as you are with me dude...if someone asks me for a suggestion, yes I will point them in the direction of a Track ball. This season alone I'm averaging higher than I ever have in my life with their equipment and to me, that makes a statement in my opinion. God Bless You and have a great week!
