on abc's website it said we would be bowling on brunswicks pro lane
is that the same surface as anvil lane or something new.
just curious

The pro lane is new, introduced about 8 months ago, I believe it is a synthetic wood blend,

I was told by one of the ABC guys at the shipping booth that we would be bowling on wood in Baton Rouge.  That would be different!

Rick,
FYI - Broadview Bowl(Broadview, IL) had the Pro Lane installed this summer, and I beleive they are currently the only center in Illinois to have them.  They are real nice, with one of the most noticable differences being the approaches' consistency in humid and dry weather.  A huge upgrade from the typical synthetic approach which becomes extremely tacky under humid conditions and slick during the dry winter conditions.

That's interesting.  Too bad ABT doesn't get to Broadview any more.  I'd like to check them out.

Yeah, you can blame our Sunday Morning Men's league for making ABT scheduling at Broadview impossible.

Also the brunswick zone in homewood, on I believe 183 and Kedzie.

The Brunswick Zone in Homewood is one of the PBA pro-am houses for the PBA Chicago Open.

The new Textured Approach from Brunswick offers the performance advantages and visual appeal of a wood approach with the durability of a synthetic approach. During the manufacturing process, while the melamine surface of a Pro Lane or Anvilane synthetic approach panel is curing, a piece of rough "release paper" is directly applied to the melamine. This paper imprints an ideal series of contours into the melamine and provides a texture that beautifully replicates that of natural wood approaches. The result? A textured synthetic approach that looks and performs like traditional wood approaches for bowlers of all ages and skill levels.


Sounds more like Synthetic lane surface to me.

Reading that made me think they were just talking about the approaches. I have heard the new surface is more textured than the Anvils but still a bit harder than AMF HPL's.

From what I could decipher it is a more advanced version of Anvilane, the description came directly off their website.
