What are the odds USBC decides to contest this tournament on strings? Would be a great way to turn off even more bowlers from going.

0% Chance.  They would have to throw out all the records and start over.  If anything the OC will be the last hold out to free fall pins.

Id rather them go to 4 person teams first. That would make too much sense.
