I see that the showcase lanes are hosting the "Columibia 300 Forty Frame game". Does anyone know anything about this tournament? Are they using a house shot, sport shot, or Nationals team shot? Is the "regular" r40 frame game still going on outside the bowling center?

this is thew only 40 frame game going on.
usually a pretty easy house shot
I like to do this tournament after i bowl the open
im focused on shot making and have practiced on that pattern
once im done with that, then i can have some fun on the easy stuff + i dont want to be tired beforehand either

We bowled in it this past weekend. Our group grabbed 3 spots in the top 6 (although it's still early!). Pretty easy house shot with higher volume. I did have a few outside misses that hung a bit...buy significantly easier than the Open patterns.

Exactly my thoughts, and it's always a good time.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

this is done around here, but usually a more relaxed setting such as maybe on new years and such
The way I've seen it has different frames so like frame 4 8 20 28 and 40 could be 9pin no tap frames
maybe a strike on some frames wins $5
that is what I've seen sounds like a real 40 frame game would be fun in a real tournament.

What were the squad times?
-
We bowled on Thursday. There was a noon, 3 or 3:30, and at least 1 later time... maybe 7? I assume there is an am squad too.
-
Daily squads will run February 28 through July 12, 2014
Squad times are: 12:00 noon, 2:30 pm, 5:00 pm, 7:30 pm and 10:00 pm.

40 framer is a fun tournament. I went 40 clean last year, almost didn't put the money in for it too

It was fun had 1008 scratch :D

Drink prices were a little on the high side for a "normal" bowling center.
