If this is in Northtown, would this bet at Texas Station, Santa Fe Station, or SunCoast? Either way, it would definitely be a trip, especially if away from Las Vegas Blvd.

It's on Las Vegas Blvd, just not on "The Strip".

Last time the Open was in Vegas, the 40 Framer was at Sam's Town and seemed to do fine.

If on Las Vegas Blvd, and in northtown, that puts it at the Silver Nugget. 24-lane synthetic house, AMF pinsetters, and relatively remodeled (last time I was there, it was wooden lanes, but that was 16 years ago). It should be okay there, but I can see why they put it out there: none of the other alleys wanted to sacrifice their leagues for 6 months for this side tournament.

Though given proximity and accessibility, I don't know why they wouldn't have chosen Sunset Station or Red Rock. Getting from South Point to Silver Nugget is a brutal drive, especially with them doing construction on the Spaghetti Bowl and Lake Mead Drive, making going up I-15 horrible (even with the express lanes), and you don't want to take Las Vegas Blvd straight up. I-215 straight to Sunset Station or Red Rock would avoid it completely.

Yea, Silver Nugget. Kinda run down, but I've seen worse.

So, thoughts on the neighborhood there?
like if I drive my own car and park there?

It's kind of an industrial area on a busy street, so should be no problem

Not only that, but parking at the casino is always monitored. no problems there. Plus, no-one would really go up that far to do any damage, especially in that close proximity to the NLVPD and Nellis AFB.
