Title: A Tweener take on Reno
Post by: 9orbetter on March 21, 2010, 07:53:18 AM
First off I like to thank Dan Belcher for his report. I bowled 3/17 2:30 teams lanes 9/10(4 tweeners & 1 cranker). In warmups we burned a track up 5 with a 500 grit Bedlam. I used Brunswick Focus Zone (Intl ver. Ultra Zone w/Activator Hybrid cover) with a control drill 4"pin above bridge oob condition. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a238/9orbetter/Brunswick/FocusZone2.jpg
as I only carried 2 balls this year (Avalanche Pearl)

Had a great look up 5 with a control strong arc to the pocket. Finished with 219,224,191=634.. Overall we finished with 2932(951,1039,942) team which could have been better if we all had better last games. At least we will cash decently.

During D/S I had the same look up 5 using the same ball for all events. Finished Dbls 202,223,224=649 and singles got careless with a 540.

Overall 1824 all events. Nothing great but good for me as I have struggled the last 4 nationals never breaking a deuce or 530..lol..9

Not "great," but definately good! And certainly a good improvement over previous performances, which is about all you can ask. Good job.

Way to go, anything over 1800 is good in my book at Nationals.  Thanks for your insight.

Good bowling on a tough shot.
Does Frankie May have his own booth with his own balls or is he at one of the other booths?

thanx dballz. I had this look the last time the Nats was in Reno. Anyone going should have a plan:

1 - Make your spares
2 - Get wood on splits
3 - Know your equipment (surface is key)
4 - Don't be afraid to think outside your comfort zone, have confidence in your game.
And last: Have fun. you wouldn't travel to bowl without passion for this sport.

If all else fails, theres always the slots..lol...9
