Looking at the lane graph, does anybody have input on how to play the lanes? I'm going out next week and will get fresh oil for each of my sets. I like where Wiseman was playing on the telecast. I'm only taking 900 Global equipment; Break Pearl and S75. I'd appreciate any wisdom that you bowling "gods" have for me. Thanks.

As coorsltisgood has ask. Of the good bowlers in this site do you have an honest answer in how to handle this type of lane condition?

I think why you are not getting the answers flying in is because it is a new pattern every year.  They tweak on it and play with it all the time before the event starts.  You wont get any solid answers until a few weeks in.  You can have an idea of where you want to play but until you throw a few shots you wont have any idea.  Just be ready to try a line you may never had thrown before.  Really deep inside or way outside.

When you get down there, get to the complex and watch bowlers of your similar style and see where they are playing. Forget the online lane graph. Last year I was playing team event off of the vicinity of 11 = 13 the board, and in singles/doubles, played as deep as 5th/6th arrow. Always scout the lanes, sytles, and what type of equipment. The pro shops down there (at the stadium) can give suggestions also.

My advice to you is to start "drinking heavily" 3 hours before start time. Although being in Vegas might as well go 24/7!

well honestly i dont have the highest average at the usbc, prob 190 or something of that nature, idk...to me ive thrown the ball well just didnt match up at 7 in the morning last year in doubles and singles....

ANYWAYS. i would suggest if you have some speed and a little hand get in around 3rd arrow to start and see where that takes you, for team last year i stood 26 targeted 17 at the arrows and was able to get out to 8 and 12 for my breakpoint and was able to get to the hole consistently...this year with the more overall volume i suspect you might have to play a little straighter or use something stronger than my gamebreaker...which would be nice cuz that is one of my weaker balls but it rolls so even off the spot it was the only thing i could control...

again that is just my idea, ill be bowling in june so i have a few months to practice and luckily i have a machine at home to help practice...

Madison area group that includes Ken Duffield and Chris Pounders bowls Feb. 27-28.  Will know a lot more after they bowl.  I prefer actual reaction to reading graphs.  That being said there is some decent commenting at USBC message board.

By comparing the graphs to the last several years, it looks to be a little flatter pattern, which tells me you have to be very accurate and controlled thru the fronts and mid lanes - not alot of side rotation at least in the beginning. But I really think that every year its about the same, a whole lot of how the lanes play is who you are bowling with. Mike Jasnau really showed our teams last year that if you can get your bowlers to play the same area, it really opens up the shot and moves can be easilly calculated.

I meant the house i bowl in at home, im at school, has an oiler that can translate the pattern pretty well to help practice
