Has anyone gone and had problems with tacky approaches?
-
Nope. But, then again, I wear Linds so I rarely have a problem with approaches. I got through all 9 games with no problem. The others bowling with me who do wear Dexters did not seem to have any problems either.

If anyone out there is worried about the scores being too high, try duckpin!!

I've been curious about this myself. In billings, the approaches were extremely slick. I fell once, as did others around me. In CC, the humidity should be MUCH higher, leading to more tacky than slick approaches.

I would definately suggest that if you are not used to synthetic approaches, as well as bowling in hummid climates, to look into grabbing a slide sock. The approaches down here tend to get sticky on a moments notice. Just a suggestion. I have the dynothane Sport Ultras, and I even carry the slide sock. Never hurts to be prepaired.

I had no problems last week with the approaches, nor did the 9 guys I bowled with. I have Tour Ultras and have a long slide and thought the textured Brunswick approaches were fine. The weather was overcast, low 70s and humid at the time.
-
90% humidity when I was down there last weekend.
out of 15 bowlers only 2 had problems.
Which were fixed in the squad room, by testing the approach on the stub lane.
I had no problems, I don't slide a lot.

Team event was 23-24 and approaches were very sticky for all.I have tour ultras and went to three teflon pucks before I was comfortable.Singles and doubles were 1-4 and approaches were not as bad.Changed out two teflons for back skin and was fine. Some of the older guys without adjustable soles were having knee problems.all the bowlers with adjustable soles were able to get comfortable pretty quick. The othres not so much.

In both Knoxville 2003 and Baton Rouge 2005, I fell at least once. If you have interchangeable soles and heels, you WILL need them. "rackattack" is right about those who have "regular" shoes. The approaches can me murderous.

As stated in another thread.
We have found that slide slocks are an invaluable tool for when you are on the textured pro avilane approaches.
Some bowlers don't have a problem but many do.
