The topic says it all.  I keep hearing that term, but am not positive what it is.  I think I know.  What does it mean???  And where did the term come from???

It is a bowling forum.  On top of that, it is in the USBC Tournament section.  Of course I am talking about bowling.  Yikes.

Thank you Phoneman.  That is what I thought it was.  I wonder where that term came from in regards to bowling.

I often wondered this question too, but after reading the USBC board over and over and seeing minors, I figured team was the major part and s/d was minors.

After reading some of the responses you got, I see there are some minors on here also.

Minors are the doubles and singles events in a tournament.  The term came about because back in the day, the major event was the team event - before everyone got the idea that their personal success was more important.

You mean there are more than one person on a team? When you say back in the day, do you mean before 2002?
