This post is going to assume some things, so please be aware of that.
With this year's S/D event being hosted in the Bowling Center and assuming the oil pattern is similar to the last few years, what equipment would you take and why?
Normally for S/D I throw a sponge and then adjust accordingly, but with the Bowling Center having significantly more built-in friction than the Plaza, I'm thinking a sponge might not the right way to go.
Thoughts? Opinions?

I would use a sponge for D/S. The oil pattern doesn't change much from year to year. Reno does not play like other cities where the pattern opens up quicker

I agree that the S/D oil pattern doesn't change much from year-to-year, which is why I feel it was a safe assumption. However. I'm not seeing how Reno fits in this scenario since Nationals is in Vegas at South Point.

I wouldn't abandon the "sponge" because as you said this is an assumption post. It also depends on how many balls you are bringing to the tournament. I have always found the bowling center to hook more the tournament venue but not tremendously more (1-3 boards). I have always liked my look better at team practice sessions there as it seems the mid lanes do read a little better then the newer Lanes upstairs. Plus there is nothing to say that USBC doesn't take this into account and just add a little more oil then they would have used in the Tournament Venue. My suggestion is put together your best 3,6,or 9 ball arsenal and all of those usually include at least 1 ball for oil.

For the tournament as a whole, if I left today without any knowledge of the conditions and only based on past experience I would be something like:
Axiom
Pro-Motion
Honey Badger Extreme Solid
Honey Badger Revival
Zen
Plastic
I would consider subbing something like my All Road, a Boost or Electrify Pearl in, or possibly a new original HyRoad, but not sure where....

I'm just hoping to bring my brain. I had success in the Cashman Center, but Southpoint has been a disaster for me bowling in Vegas. Maybe this year I'm smarter & better, if this tournament unfolds.

My plan (if I were leaving tomorrow):
Crux Prime
Phaze 2
Money Badger Tour
IQ Tour
Code Black
Spare ball

I think that is reasonable. For me I would probably substitute a Hy-Road or a Afterburner for the Code Black as I do find that games 5 and 6 in S/D can get a bit early(in the fronts) and these give me a better shot at clearing the fronts. If your Code Black can scoot through a little early hook then I think you have a nice grouping for what we know about the tournament now. I do reserve the right to change my mind as once they start to bowling and some info comes out about what people are seeing lanes I might make different choices.

For me:
Flux Solid
Honey Badger Claw (Shined)
Ordnance Solid or Aspect
White Hot Badger
Money Badger or Flux Pearl
After Dark Hybrid
Too many rocks to choose!
