Not wanting to know how to play the lanes

What I'd like to know is, are the lanes playing as oily as the graph makes them look on the USBC website? I'm not a person who wants to know how somebody played the lanes because many times I have prepared for what I was told and they reacted totally different for me. I would just ask the guys who have been there so far if they were as oily as they expected?

With an oil graph, you only know wher the oil is supposed to be when you come to the lanes. How it "feels" and what actually works for you depends on many actors (lane surface, humidity, your style and intended line, etc.), so that this can IMHO only be an indictaion, some input to build a strategy what to try and how to adjust.

I don't have what you are looking for, as I haven't bowled yet, but I have been checking multiple websites to see what people are saying. It seems that the lanes are playing tougher this year than last year in general. It seems a few folks have found things here or there for a game or a set. It does seem they are playing tighter this year, but that is only anecdotal.

Plus what Dizzy said, lol.

Outside 7 board is maybe playable by Norm Duke anyone else forget it, you can start outside 7 and point in that plays well after game 1.

The inside is actually hooking alot but tight lines are needed for better carry, by game 3 it opens up though. Not easy by any means I know how bad my game is as a bowler now with a whooping 1506 for all events.

Let me tell you something Steven Vance must be really really good, anyone who can shoot over 740 on that crap is just good.

Lots of surface for game 1 and 2 of team if you are a direct player and then it is possible to try more of medium balls inside or coming across 7 board to the pocket. By singles and doubles it is possible to swing some if you have revs or slow speed.

2/26-2/27 the backends were not very snappy. It played fairly long, but not heavy. I used a 900G Bounty. It's drilled with the pin in the ring, MB out (5.5x3.5) with a weight hole 2" down on the VAL. It is polished over box finish. I was able to play most of the team event 15 (arrows) to 10 (breakpoint). I was amazed that I did not have to move around much. Day two played very similar, but I was not throwing it as well, so it seemed a little squirrely. I started playing the same ball/same line, but ended up going 12 to 10 with a rico'd Creature Pearl.
It was my first time to Nationals, so I guess I should not be too disappointed with my 1640.
