I bowl league with him every week. It was only about a month or two ago he shot 720 something. He is a legend, plus a true class act.

I bowled with Bill SR and JR when I lived in Houston from 1980-1994. I bowled at Copperfield Bowl. Bill and his son where true class acts, always willing to help out anyone with anything that they could..

Mr Lillard is a great person. He will take the time to talk to you about bowling anytime. My brother bowls with him on Monday nights and when he shot his 805 with a Brunswick Black Diamond Mr Lillard was the first person to congradulate him. He the sat down and talk to him about all the old bowling balls and to Charles that his favorite was the Brunswick Black Beauty.

One of my USBC teammates bowls with him in a league at Palace Lanes (which Lilliard owns and, in my experience, the home of the biggest back ends of any house I have ever bowled in) in Houston.  I was visiting my friend at Palace one night when Bill came over and sat down to have coffee and a few yuks with us.  Very much a traditional gentleman and fine person.

Watched him throw a few balls, and he retains the distinct approach I saw many years ago when I was a teenager and he opened a new house in Fort Worth in an exhibition match with Andy Varipapa (king of the trick shots).  A little stiffer and slower now, but aren't we all.
