You aren't lying there on this year.  It is making really think about next year to the same place.  I am looking at $500 roundtrip from Baltimore to Reno this year.  I can get to Vegas for $210 RT.  Am actually thinking of making the drive from Vegas to Reno to save the $300 if I can get a rent a car for about $125 for 3 days.

Phoneman,

Just want to make sure you are aware that Reno-Vegas is an 8+ hour drive before you rent that car.

Traveling as a Senior in June '10 on South West it would cost me $1029 for me and my wife. One of the reasons I've decided to pass this year. That price is a BIG REDUCTION to what it would be for non-senior fares! I'd be coming from Raleigh NC!

I jsut got back from Nationals.  I booked my roundtrip flight on Southwest from Denver right around New Year's Day during one of their winter fare sales.  Got $118 roundtrip before taxes.  I also lucked out on my outbound flight and had flexibility in my schedule so I took a voluntary bump so they comped me a $200 voucher & a $69 credit for the outbound flight to Reno.  Just luck of the draw I guess.

Roundtrip between Louisville and Reno (leaving next Wednesday) on Southwest set me back $390.  It ended up being cheaper overall to fly out a day earlier than I planned and stay an extra night!

We leave in about 2 weeks.  Airfare, plus 3 nites at Silver Legacy worked out to about $400/person from Chicago.

Cheapest ive found so far is $519 round trip including hotel, flying out of raleigh as well. My fiance'' and i together are looking at $1100, but if we stay somewhere other than a hotel close to or at the stadium we can get it cheaper than that. Plus, my team is going in together to rent a van to get back and forth from the stadium to the hotel.

If you use Southwest, it all depends on which day of the week you fly. It seems to be cheaper Tuesdays - Thursdays, and its best to buy tickets on Tuesday or Wednesday. I have the luxury of living near Baltimore which is one of their larger hubs, and the cost of the flights seem to be a little cheaper. This year it cost me $280 round trip from Baltimore to Reno with a stop in Salt Lake City with leaving on 5/6 and returning on 5/12. I have used Southwest the past 2 years to go to the Open Championship, and was pleased with their service plus you get to check 2 bags weighing up to 50 lbs for free. You might be able to find a cheaper flight on another carrier, but you will have to pay for checked bags. As the flights get filled up, the cost seems to become greater.

I kept a lookout on Southwest when the flights opened up for March 25 and got them the day they opened.  Round trip from Manchester, NH to Reno was $267 with a 45 minute layover in Baltimore and one more stop in Salt Lake City.  Leave Manchester at 6:30 and get to Reno at 12:40 their time.

I would like to add that one year I did the drive from AZ to Reno with an overnight stop in Vegas.  From Vegas to Reno, there were blizzard warnings that March day and I just beat the storm in to Reno.  There were many teams that did not make it that year because of that storm closing the highways and delaying or cancelling air traffic.

Yeah I figured it was close to 8 hours but to save a couple of hundred it might be worth it.  Then I checked Air fare to Oakland and that would only be a 3 hour drive and it is very close to Vegas Airfare.  So that will probably be the route I take.  I am not worried about the snow I go at the end of June.

I did this one year and saved a ton, but be aware of the weather conditions thru the pass, they can go from iffy to down right deadly in a flash

So it's pretty much fly out, bowl, and go home?

It's about $300 roundtrip for me, and I'm guessing $50 a night for a room - looked at some during the week prices for flights and room at Circus Circus.

So $450 + whatever fees and taxes for a quick bowling trip, and whatever you spend while there.  Sounds like something I might want to try one of these years.

Booked airfare and hotel through Expedia.  Airfare on Delta from Minneapolis to Reno by way of Salt Lake City was $250 round trip.  Not too bad.

The prices might be high because Reno isn't that big of an airport or destination for that matter.. If you think it is worth it and you don't mind driving a bit you might be able to find better deals to Sacramento.  Reno is a little over 2 hours from Sacramento.  Depending on when you are going, there might be snow or storms and it might not be worth risking the drive..

Phoneman, I am going late May and got a roundtrip for $325 from BWI on Southwest. Fly out Thursday, come back Monday. One thing I have learned with Southwest is that you have to book as soon as the dates you need are available to get the cheapest rates.

I used my Harrah''s card to get my room for a total of $160 for the four nights.

I'm taking to whole family this year. We're staying in Lake Tahoe because of my time share. We booked our flights back in November for 1196.00 r/t non stop, so I didn't think that was too bad.

We're doing the snow skiing thing.

I found out last night why i cant find lower prices right now.  All of the current deals expire on flights on 6/20/2010.  Have to wait for the next round of discounts to come in.  Should be in the next couple of weeks.  That is why I cant find anything cheap right now.

Flights from Sioux Falls, SD or Sioux City, IA (75 miles south of SF) are about $500 right now.  Was $328 out of Sioux City and then one day, boom, close to $500.  If they don't drop I'll be pairing up with a couple and driving.  Not too excited about a 22 hour drive!

I'm leaving end of March and out of NYC and there was nothing less than 350.  I figured the only way I could put up with that hellhole of a city is to spend a few nights in Vegas before hand.  I found a 3 way flight from NYC to Vegas, Vegas to Reno, and Reno to home for a total of 362.
