Vegas Airfare Sale
« on: December 29, 2008, 09:54:55 PM »
If anyone is going out to Vegas for one of the 1st few weekends of the tournament, I just got an email from Southwest and they are running a crazy sale today and tomorrow on airfare.  50% off their lowest published rates

http://www.southwest.com/landing/vegas_50off.html  Valid for travel between January 13 and March 11 (book by 12/31).  I looked at sample rates and you could get $190 R/T taxes incl out of Philly with no bag fees.

That really blows!!!!  I just booked a trip there last night non refundable!!!!  this would have been a $100 cheaper.  I was still not complaining I got 3 nights in a suite at TI and RT airfare for 2 for $730...

On edit I just re did the math and I still got it cheaper thru Travelocity.  Suite for 3 nights thru TI was $417  that leaves my airfare for $313 for 2.  It would be $320 + taxes and fees thru Southwest.

We were able to get round trip from Chicago to Vegas for $180.00. One stop going to Vegas and non-stop on the way back. I am ok with that.

What airline.  Lowest I have found in the last month was a hotel/flight package for $320 for 3 nights 3rd weekend in march.  Hoping to book something soon.

We are going in May.  Memorial Weekend

I found flight, car, hotel (sun-thurs) for about 380...  I did a "Package" rate through the travel sites..  511 at the same location (Golden Nugget)

Southwest airlines airfare only. We have a timeshare condo there so room is already taken care of.

I signed up on http://www.yapta.com which is a site where you can save itineraries, and when the cost goes down it sends an E-mail.  The difference between them and Expedia, et al., is that if you book, it goes straight to the airline's website which is usually just a little cheaper.

Currently the "perfect" flight on Continental from Des Moines is about $240 and I am debating on whether to pull the trigger on our late-April flight, or wait for awhile.

I usually use sidestep.com which scans all the airlines websites as well as the travel sites.  I booked for $280 r/t out of Allentown PA on continental
