Since there's been a fair amount of discussion recently about equipment and lane play regarding the Open Championship pattern, I thought I'd start a thread that might serve to share your thoughts and experiences on the pattern.

Bowled on March 10th & 11th.

My brother played $300 in brackets during S/D.  He shot 491 & 550 and won $250.  What does that tell you?
That I really wish I bowled in your squads.

Tells me to budget for some serious cash in brackets.

I know all of the guys going up for the "team USA support teams", just get them a few buckets of beer and some pretty girls and you'll still do well in brackets. Other than that, your first inclination was the best inclination.

Those support teams didn't do too bad. EV is now in 3rd and PJ's team is in 5th. All 9 right handers started outside or at least close to the 5 board in practice. EV and crew shot 1220 the final game. Nice game Eric if you still keep and eye on this site.

I bowled 6 games on this pattern yesterday, didnt even know i was throwing on the pattern until after the first game when i shot 158,the guy running the counter came up to me and was like oh forgot to tell you this is the usbc national pattern.. at first i was throwing my nano from about 14 to 8, it was checking way too soon, then i switched from my pin up nano to my pin up victory road pearl.. i had so much success with this ball that it was the only ball that i threw the whole time. every game i was going 3 left with my feet and crushing the pocket. my 5 game total after the 158 was 258, 235, 210, 201, 197.. if i would have had a lesser aggressive pin up pearl to go to then i would have finished better those last 2 games.. i started to leave alot of pocket 10 pins as my line got deeper.. no solids worked for me on this pattern as they always just went sideways at the end of the pattern and i went thru the face.
