Lane 81 & C.A.T.S.
« on: March 05, 2007, 06:36:12 AM »
Does anyone have any information regarding Mike Janow (sp?) and the C.A.T.S. system in Reno, like costs if reservations are needed or maybe a website?

Thanks,
Jeff

1-800 304 2695 - when the phone answers hit 1 and then hit 3 to get to the pro shop. his e mail address is bowlbetter@hotmail.com.

I got this off another site.

They recommend you get a reservation a week in advance.

$125 i believe got analysis and lessons the last time around. Mike is a nice guy and very kind. I believe the lesson was suppose to be 1 or 1.5 hours last time and he spent 3 hours working with me. (He needed the extra time, way too much to fix. ) Well worth the money for most people. A few of the things he showed me, paid for the lessons through brackets. That was greatly appreciated. I know lots of people buy new balls out there, but most would be better served with the lesson and analysis.

I was there for a Jr/Adult tournament.  I did the basic analysis for $60.  You get to see video of your shot compared to pro bowlers, learn your speed and revs count.
I think it was $120 for the next level up.  video instruction for an hour.  something like that.  The guy was nice.  Only weird thing for me was people hanging out along the sides of the lanes, or near the approach.

I wonder if I'll have the courage to find out just how bad I am. I passed it by the last time I was in Reno in 2000, I think. Sigh ...
Leaving in 30 minutes, if the rain, sleet and crap allow my flight to take off.

If you makes you feel any better, I did it awhile back.  I never did get a strike, but I saw a lot of things I was doing wrong.

The focus was not on getting strikes, but trying to be consistant and accurate - at least on the ten shots being recorded, so that your game could be properly analyzed.  Seeing what was wrong or could be improved upon was the whole point of it all, so you got that.  For what it's worth, I dont think I threw a strike either.
