Mike Jasnau and Lane 81
« on: March 21, 2011, 02:22:17 AM »
I booked a coaching session with Mike while in Reno for Nationals 10 days ago and I have to say it was money very well spent.  I opted to do the full CATS DVD analysis and this session is starting to make some very positive changes to my game.  There was plenty to discuss during my lesson and Mike did a great job of walking through my physical game and identified 4 fundamental changes to work on.  These changes have already improved my footwork, timing, armswing and release and I am back to rolling 600 series in my leagues.  I am very optimistic that I am back on track in time for this spring's tournament seasons.  If you are going to Reno to bowl the Nationals or just are in Reno (and have your equipment with you), I would highly recommend setting up a lesson with Mr. Jasnau.

I booked a lesson with  Mike last year and it was the best money I had ever spend on bowling.  This year my average is up ten pins and my ball reaction is much better.  Having the DVD also helps to refocus.  I just bowled usbc several days ago and shot 720 in singles.  Might not be for everyone but he sure helped me.

Mike has 3 different lesson levels.  I believe the least expensive lesson is about $70.  The mid-level lesson is about $100 (includes CATS analysis but not the lesson DVD).  The high level lesson is $145, but it includes CATS analysis & DVD.  If you can swing it, I'd recommend going with the high level lesson.  The DVD is something you can re-visit after the lesson.  I know that it's a lot of $$, but the benefit of having the video lesson can't be over-stated.  The lesson is 90 minutes long, but I know that Mike spent almost 2 hours working with me and laid out a practice plan that I am using and getting good results.  I would like to do this again in the next 6 to 12 months.

I am booked for the day before our team event. I am also working with Paul Fleming a couple times before heading out. Paul will be out there in early April so will benifit from his experience on this years pattern as well.

Bowling News USA - March 1, 2011 Mike Jasnau in Reno for 2011 USBC Open Championships
Storm instructional staff member Mike Jasnau will be set up in Reno, NV providing video analysis lessons throughout the 2011 USBC Open Championships. You can find Mike on Lane 81 in the Lane 81 Pro Shop at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno.
Mike, who is a PBA Champion as well as a USBC Silver certified coach and Bowlers Journal Top 100 Coach, has done well over 6500 video analysis lessons. Jasnau, considered to be one of the top instructors in the country, is entering his 13th year of coaching at the National Bowling Stadium. During that time he has helped thousands of bowlers to improve their games, including many PBA touring pros and our own Storm Pro Staff members.
Jasnau and Lane 81 feature one of the only CATS systems in the western US. The Computer Aided Tracking System is able to provide important information about what your ball is doing on the lane. Ball speed and speed control are measured to a tenth of a mile per hour. Accuracy is measured to a tenth of an inch. Launch angles and entry angles are measured to a tenth of a degree. Actual rev rate and consistency of rev rates will also be checked. In addition to this valuable information, a full video analysis is part of the lesson and your lesson will be recorded on DVD with audio.
The complete CATS lesson includes the following:
Complete Computer Analysis
Full video analysis of your game
Personalized instruction
Advice on playing the USBC Open Championships lane pattern
Tips on how to improve
Take home DVD of lesson
Mike will have the 2011 USBC Open Championships lane pattern on Lane 81 for all lessons. The total cost for this complete package is $145 and takes about 90 minutes. A video analysis without the CATS data will also be available for a cost of $100 for an hour session. All bowlers taking a lesson will also receive a coupon for 10% off on high performance equipment in the Storm Booth.
Available CATS and video analysis time slots may be limited so please book your lesson reservations ahead of time by calling Mike at 775-335-8841.

Call soon if wanting to get to see Mike. One of my team mates called last week and he couldn't get in until the day we bowl doubles & singles. The two days before were already full and we go early June.

You won't be disappointed Xray.  The lesson I took is helping my game a bunch.  I'm rolling the ball so much cleaner and with greater consistency since my lesson.  After you have your session with Mike, I'd like to hear your feedback.
