Because the direction it's been going the last 20 years or so has been SO great?

I don't know, maybe we should give the guy a chance

Is that a bad thing?

The USBC brought in someone with "Sports" experience, I don't see this as a bad thing. Plus he has proven he knows how to run a business, another plus. I don't see how this is a bad thing in any way, shape, or form.

Well at least something might change...He can't do much more damage than what has been done already.

I don't know him, but I do know of some things his company has done near me. This is the outfit that runs Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala., and has the Barber Museum there. The track is a road course that will probably host an IRL event at some point and I'd like to see it draw a NASCAR date. The museum is dedicated mostly to motorcycle history and was such an architectural wonder when it was built that you can get a specialty license plate in Alabama honoring the thing.

However, I don't think they care much about cost containment, which will be a big part of his job at USBC. It's quite expensive to use any of Barber's facilities here.

I agree with Jess. Having lived in Bham for 7 years, the Barber team was top-notch and being from CT, I know the facility there to be the same.

Can vouch for the man, but business saavy and promotion should be excellent.
