Lanes at the Stadium
« on: February 13, 2004, 09:01:18 PM »
I noticed this in watching the two PBA tournaments in Reno, and I doubt that it is all that uncommon, but I noticed that the first 20 feet or so is a lighter color of synthetic, and the last 40 feet or so, is a darker shade of synthentic.  Are the lanes all one synthetic type or is there a difference at that change over similar to a splice on wood lanes?

This is an older web site that discusses the 2001 Sr Doubles. It has detailed info on the lane conditions, however. The lanes are now 8 years old. It does not talk about the issue you presented (ok, then why am I replying?) but shows the issues that most of us do not consider every day.

I have previously looked for info on what you stated but Brunswick does not show anything on the topic and the lane is full synthetic (correct me if I'm wrong) but there's some type of composite - I assume do to the heavy traffic on the front part of the lane.
