I know 2 teams of bowlers that went to Corpus last week.

During the singles event one of them went down with a heart attack.

They had to do CPR at the convention center and his heart stopped 4 times on the way to the hospital.

Once there they found 100% blockage on one artery and 98% on the other. They put in a stint in the 100% and he came around and they were supposed to do the other artery yesterday.

He appears to be making a good recovery but probably suffered some heart damage.

That would really throw a kink in your concentration during the bowling.

When I bowled Reno (1996?) a few years back one of our guys did CPR on a heart attack victim for about 20 minutes (he's an EMT).  Then he shot 706 in team.  Amazed me.  I think the victim recovered - he was aware when they hauled him out.  I'm guessing that George had to have broken a rib or two (of the victim's) in the process.

Maybe so fireguy.  All I know is that George was pounding the bejazus out of him.  Makes me laugh when I see "CPR" on TV.

Pinbuster, I heard about that heart attack as well.  The father of one of my good friend's was bowling on that shift when it occured.  It would be very difficult to try and get back to bowling after something like that.

I was there parts of saturday, all of sunday and All of monday, and didn't hear anything of it... I bowled the earlier shifts and my wife later... I could not immagine how that would have effective the people bowling around there... hopefully everything goes ok for him.

I saw him last night at league.

He didn’t bowl just came in to say hi. Said he was feeling pretty good at this time and he looked and acted pretty normal.

They put in 3 stints into arteries around his heart and had to have a pacemaker put in.  I caught that the doctors currently think he has about 50% of his heart function left.
