Title: Shipping part 2
Post by: agroves on December 22, 2005, 12:50:25 PM
I was thinking about what to take with me.  I am guessing a 3 bag roller would be the heaviest bag I could take.  So, I was thinking about shipping some equipment.  But, if I ship a ball or two.  That is 60 bucks shipping, there and back.  I was thinking this....

check my 3 ball roller
check a suitcase
carry on a two ball tote.

Does anyone know if I can carry on 2 balls??  If not, I'll leave em and buy something when I am down there vs shipping.

Not sure what airline you are using but I know most have a bowling equipment policy.
My only experience is with Delta and they will only allow a single ball bag and shoes, if I remember right the carry on weight limit is 20#.

Most airlines will check in a 2 ball bag. Most of them will not allow a 3 ball bag, AND if they do, usually the airport at the tournamnet will restrict you to 2 ball bag. I had that happen 2 years ago: I brought in two 2-ball bags. I was only allowed to check-in one 2-ball bag for the trip home. Had to ship the other one home separately via UPS.

The USBC has yet to post the airpline rules at Corpus Christi; wait and check the USBC travel website for that bit of info!
