Hey Deb, Could you send me the info on the practice days. My Teammates on Thursday night bowl at Santa Ana on Tuesdays also and their whole league was going to go. Wouldn't mind practicing a little even though it will probably be different byt the last weekend.

Pat & Mike ... Isn't that some candy or cartoon or something?
The practice sessions are 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. The early squad will be 4-5 person teams, 3 games, and the late squad will be doubles/singles, 6 games.
To either get on a team, or sign up a full team or D/S pair, call Art at the association office. I won't put the phone number here, because ... ya know. He's handling the sign-ups for both sessions. The sessions are free. I'm bowling both sessions, so maybe we'll finally get a chance to meet, Mike.
From what I understand the practice sessions will be used for testing various patterns being considered, training lane monitors and others who will be working the tournament, and debugging the electronics.
It's a heck of an opportunity to get some time on the lanes and in the convention center setting, even if we don't see the actual "final" pattern.
Side note here ... I edit the association newsletter, and the February issue is being distributed to the houses today. There's info about the practice sessions, other events leading up to opening day, including Bowlfest, and a section on all of the side tournaments being run throughout the main event. Be sure to pick one up!

Eventually. I always ask that it be uploaded to the site after it's been released to the bowlers at the houses. As of 7 p.m. tonight, they're in all the houses. A lot of good comments so far. I'm finally satisfied that we're producing a quality newsletter that's useful to our bowlers.
With two city tournaments running simultaneously for the next two weeks, it may take a while for the webmaster to get it on the site.

Hey Deb,
Im now in NM, if you remember me. Im living in Rio Rancho and heard about the practices and stuff. A friend of mine that I work with was telling me about it. I might do it, might not. I dont have a team to bowl with, so if you know of anyone that might need a bowler, I am open, but might have a doubles.
Shane

Hey, Shane!
I was just thinking about you today and wondering if you ever moved here. Glad to hear the job came through and it happened! I don't know of anyone off-hand who doesn't have a full team, but get yourself on the sub board as soon as the tournament venue opens!
Have you found a bowling center you like yet? Hub and I bowl on Thursdays at Tenpins, and we're going to try to get a team together to bowl a summer league at Holiday. That's where our coach is, and we really like that house.
Hope to meet up with you sometime.

If you want to see decent fireworks while you are here. The Albuquerque Isotopes(Florida Marlins Triple A Affiliate) will be playing the New Orleans Zephyrs on July 4th at Isotopes Park. Tickets are pretty cheap and the fireworks are usually pretty good.
