I guess I "bitched" too soon. Our squad times for team actually improved and we kept the original 5 PM squad for Doubles/Singles.
Question for you.. I'm assuming you're up in my area (NorCal).. how are you practicing, with everything closed down? Are you making the run over to Reno/Sparks/Carson City? I can't imagine you wanting to drive up to Redding or so just to practice..
BL.
I'm in Stockton. I have not thrown a bowling ball since last March when our local houses shut down for "Three weeks to lessen the surge on the hospitals".
In late June, we were on our way to Newport Oregon for vacation and traveled through Redding. There was a bowling alley there that was open for business, we stopped in(actually stopped there because of Liquor Barn which shares a parking lot) and checked it out. The bowling alley was open for business at that time. Nice smaller house, probably a nice place to bowl.
The shut down hasn't been that bad for me overall. I work for a very large mental health hospital company that has campuses all over California. We have Skilled Nursing as well as Mental Health treatment. Also having a serious impact on my ability to bowl is I'm taking classes to finish a degree at UC Berkeley. So the shutdown has made life a bit easier since I don't have to drive to Berkeley for classes four days a week.
I'm gonna pay my $185 and bowl like shit in Las Vegas. My Open Championships average is 176, so I figure to knock it down and move me out of the top division.
Yep, I intend to be a sorry-low-down-cheating-sandbagger.
