Trip to Nationals
« on: July 03, 2007, 06:03:54 AM »
This was my third trip to Nationals, so I expected to build on my experience from the previous trips.  I felt very prepared for the tournament, as I have been working with a coach for the past 6 months to improve my game.  I had studied the pattern and felt I had some good equipment for the shot.  I took a Fury, Total NV, and Inferno (OI).

Overall, this was my worst trip to Nationals.  I threw the ball fairly well, but struggled with spares.  Spares cost me 200+ pins for all three events.  I had a great look with my TNV hitting 10 at the arrows as long as I did not let it drift out too much.  A friend had a AMB Centaur Particle drilled up and it would really move on the fresh shot.  I was amazed at where he could play on the lanes versus other people on our pair that had more hand.

I did drill up a Shift and Ogre Pearl in Reno.  I used both during singles and doubles and had good looks with both.  Again, spares cost me.

I went through the CATS lesson with Mike and must say it was the best money I spent while in Reno.  Mike can really break down your game and show you areas you need to work on.  I have watched the video twice since getting home and am excited about making some changes to improve my game.

Stayed at the Silver Legacy for the second time.  I really like this place.  I arrived at noon and my room was already ready for me to check in.  Also, the Rum Bullions bar is a great place to hangout.  The Dueling Pianos on Friday and Saturday night is a must see.  As far as the casino, let just say they were not kind on this trip.

I had a great time, but would have liked to bowl better.  Got to see Mike Aulby, George Lambert, and Lucy Sandelin bowl.  Also got to meet Jesse James from this site and had a wonderful time talking with him.

Looking for to next year.
