Bowling the open 27/28th and a bunch of tournaments around those dates.  When are you bowling Nick?  It'd be nice to get a read off someone who can play ...

Were going to leave Wed. morning at like 6 in the morning and I'm staying at Circus Circus, I would really like to meet you guys. Its my first year to Nationals so I'm really looking forward to bowling. As if there wasn't enough pressure Nicks going to have the camera, now I really have to bowl good.

Wow a lot of people bowling from br memorial day weekend.  I'll be bowling monday and tuesday.  Plus I plan on bowling the journal and btm multiple times.  Let me know when you plan on bowling the side events and some of us from br can meet up.

On a side note how many balls are most of you bringing to nats and how are you getting them there.  I think it's a pain in the butt this year because my brother in law used to work at delta and would hook me up with sending how ever many pieces of luggage I wanted.  This year I'm just gonna have to pay for extra luggage and extra weight.

No plans to bowl the BJI.

Team event 2:30pm Sunday, doubles/singles 7:00am Monday.

Can speak for the restaurant, but the Fireside is a great bar/lounge to have a drink and kick back. Nice looking waitresses and target rich for the singles.

Mel's is at the Sands.

good luck!
I went to Reno 3 times bowling over Memorial Day weekend. word of caution; avoid the former Reno Hilton (grand high sierra) during this time(at least the hotel part) because of the nice amenities(bowling center, pool, mall)
it garners its share of kids. and there is usually a AAU basketball tournament going on down town so all the teams shack up there. it takes FOREVER to get an elevator even though there are like 4. It becomes a busy place. also expect a LONG wait to check in any where you stay. 2X at the hilton on friday (late, after midnight)and once at the nugget on sat afternoon I had to stand in line 45 mins to an hour both places because of the line of people. but the extra people around makes the visit to the city more interesting. if you lay out in the sun, use sunblock and ONLY stay out 25-30 minutes. have had harsh sunburn like I have never experienced anywhere else. if you bowl the journal, go to the sierra late, like 2 am. usually the shot is just their house shot and you'll get a good read on the lanes.(nobody sleeps there anyway)
good luck! report back & have fun!

Thanks Sixkiller! It was very nice to chat you up a bit, along with the other few of the ballreview crew I met this week. Sorry to those I didn't meet, I know Nicanor was lookin for me, we just never crossed paths.

Just got done bowling Singles/Doubles, yes its about 230am. Partner bailed me out for Doubles (we shot 1211 with his 670 lol). I shot a 637 in Singles, so maybe we'll get some cash back. There was a whopping 20 something people in our squad, which absolutely killed any brackets.

Yeah I bowled subpar, but oh well!

I can't wait to see Nick's video on his research of debunking Lane 1's claim of their balls hitting 20% harder......I already know it is going to be a great scientific experioment and will have lots of people talking about it.

To me Lane #1 hits less harder that is why it carries because it doesn't over hit, the ball will deflect into the 9 pin watch any Lane #1 ball and you will see most rarely miss taking out the 9 (righthanded). Just an objective view from someone who used to laugh at people who pay that much for a bowling ball. I just wish Brunswick was making their coverstocks again.

Just as a side note to Nicks experience, he witnessed a great skill shot by me. At about the 4th frame of the second game of doubles I proceed to go light and leave the 2-7-10. At which time I attempt to throw the ball towards the 2-7. The ball hung on my thumb just a little and went a least 15ft. in the air if not more, came crashing back down on the gutter cap with the ball return under it, shot another 7-8ft. in the air back onto the lane and then bounced right in the gutter. I must say I was quite amused with this shot. I just wish I had it on video.

You do know we need to use these lanes again in 3 years.

It must be the altitude, also it was a little more humid there than in years past. I saw someone almost do a Machuga flop three lanes down from me the week before you.

haha nothing like the famous bounced on the center divider and gutter cap 4 times and still manage to make its way down the center of the lane. haha. I am the skinny guy with a shaved head, haha, and I am not quite sure why I bailed nick out, considering the fact that he literally scarred my hand for life with a knife and a candle...don't ask

Well my first experience at Nationals was a good one. I got to meet Nick and Krista, made money in brackets and black jack and had an all around good time. I would have liked to meet more of you guys/gals just didn't have much free time.

Nick, how did black jack go after I left? I would have liked to stay and play longer but I had a plane to catch. I would have liked to talk to you more but I didn't want to bother you while you were bowling, thats why I only stayed long enough to say hi and then left when you were bowling teams.

I ended up taking $40 from the dealer and tipping him $5. It was pure luck anyhow, on two $30 bets I hit blackjack and a double down on 11 that I won as well. I ended after that, because it was topsy turvy after you left.

It was nice meeting you, I'm sure I'll yap at you later.
