Nats Shot Vs. PBA shot
« on: May 21, 2007, 10:01:21 AM »
For those of you who have bowled already:  I know there not the same but if you had to pick one PBA shot from the exp. league which one would match closest to the shot at Nationals?  Just wondering if there was any comparison or not.  Going in late June and bowling now in a PBA league for practice.

Its been posted I think here and other sites the National shot is like the Shark. I would say the Shark has much more oil and is much more demanding to make good shots.

The National shot is not that extreme as I found out a week ago. It does take a level head and to try for all 9 games. You cant let down just because you might have a bad frame or 2 in a row.

We bowled a local tourny yesterday with a modified cheetah pattern(more oil) and one of my friends told he thought this shot was harder than the nat shot.  I know I did better on the Cheetah shot than the Nat shot but I attribute that to being a boneheaded bowler.

I would say the nats pattern played like if any like a viper but you can get out on viper and score but not in Reno I did see one guy in our group got down 5 and score 670 in singles. but for the majority of what I saw this weekend was like 8, 9, 10 at the break point. I think you need to approach it like the nats pattern not a PBA pattern. If you have not gone yet go early to the stadium and look at some ball reactions and try to put together a game plan and why your there ask around in the booths.
