Reno Trip Report
« on: March 26, 2010, 02:42:02 PM »
I bowled team at 8:30pm on 3/21 and S/D on 3/22 at 11:30pm.

For team event I was on 51-52 and shot 224-221-207 for 652 with 2 opens (and a gutter spare on a double in game 1). I was using my Cell up 3-4-5 board all night. I'm not very good so I had a few errant shots but for the most part I threw it really well for me. I did not see many people at all playing out there. I think my slow speed (14mph) actually helped me for once. I wish I had gotten in a grand worth of brackets, but I turned my $40 into $170 (6 wins, 2 2nd's).

In S/D we started on 31-32. I didn't have the same look on the gutter so I switched to my Avalanche solid. I was playing down 12-13 board with no bump whatsoever to the right. I had an awesome look but could only muster 224-193-202 for 619 (3 opens). My series led the doubles squad, no lie!

We switched to 29-30 for singles and the heads were kinda burnt where I was playing. I moved in to about 18 at the arrows and bumped it out to 13-14 at the breakpoint -- still very straight but it was getting the job done. I ended up shooting 205 the first game with a hole and a 192 in game 2 after opens in the 2nd and 4th frames. The last game I started off strike, spare, 6 bagger -- then split, 10 pin whiff to finish out with a 221 and 618 singles (5 opens). I got in $100 worth of brackets (5 and 5) and cashed out $330.

I will take 1889 in all events for my first time at Nationals. With my 10 opens and gutter on a double, I have much room for improvement.

Nice bowling, C.J.  For your first time out there, very well done.  First time, to be at or near even for the tourny is very respectable but to be almost 100 over, congrats.  Gives you something to build on for the upcoming years.
