So let me know a little about the lane conditions up there. I will be bowling there in June and I thought the lanes would have heavy oil on them.

For my last trip, the lanes were pretty well.  Im a Hi rev player, but tried to keep the revs down and was concentraiting to play straighter up.  The shot I found was standing on 15 (left foot) and playing from 12 to 8.  I was using my Hot Sauce scuffed to 1500 and just letting the ball roll into the pocket.  The adjustments that I made when the ball started to break early in Team was to change to my Magic.  Polished OTB and ball worked beautifuly. I wish I would of changed earlier in game 2.  A 570 was decent since we had some hi rev players on our pair and just fried the lanes very early.

In Doubles, the shot was there from team (game 1) and I never changed.  Stood on 15, played the same area and Shot 631.  My partner shot a 671 and I think he just woke from after shooting a 480'something in team and just started bowling.

Single, different story.  Heads were burnt and everything I had was just flat out hooking.  Tried lofting it and it was just flat out hoooking.  If I had my cherry Vibe, things could of been different.  The weakest  ball I had was a Raw Anger and that thing was screaming.  I was next to the ball return and just whiping it out to 7 if I could get it through the heads.  I ended up throwing my viz a ball and that had no hit.

I always worry about this.  In the past I have always had a dry lane ball (V2 Dry or Ebonite Tornado) in the bag and ended up using it in late doubles and all of singles.

In the last two years I have used my most aggressive ball for all 9 games.

So, this year I shipped out my most aggressive ball along with two a little less aggressive with different drillings (one sets up sooner, the other skid flip)

I hope my spare ball does not become my go to ball in singles.

Centers...

The same thing happen to me in singles.  In doubles, I had no issues with getting the ball to pocket using my MoRich Awesome Flip.  Then in singles, I could not find the pocket to save my life.  I used a cherry vibe (with the pin above my fingers) which was giving tremendous over/under reaction.  I wish I had my Brunswick Swarm drilled with the pin below the fingers to cut down the overreaction I was experiencing. I went from a doubles series of 580 to a singles series of 471.

It's also important to be ready to play very deep. I've bowled the 11:40am S&D shift for years (3rd shift after oiling) and I always wind up around 5th arrow by the end. Which means I'm standing in front of the ball return on the right lane. I always practice that a couple of times before I go.

It's very hard to say how things will go at nationals.  This year, the "weakest" ball I used was my Special Agent 4" pin to PAP @ 2K abralon and I didn't get any deeper than 20 at the arrows.   I didn't bowl well, but it had little to do with overreaction.

I personally think it is up to the team squad to determine whether the lanes will be burned out or not.  If you get 2 teams that know what they are doing in Nationals, then yes your lanes will become fried come Singles.  We were really lucky that when we bowled doubles, there were 4 lefties on our pair and we got a good draw.  Unfortunetly for singles, the team event had all righties and doubles (our companion) were all righties and pretty well burned out the shot.  One of our guys shot a 700 in doubles so I think the shot was broken down.  He didn't do well in Team cause everything he had was just floating out there.

If anyone out there is heading up, try out the coaching with Jansau.  It was well worth the money spent!  He is at the BJ's.
