Replacing Unavailable Team Members
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:48:15 AM »
I am bowling the Nationals on July 3 and 4th and 2 of my team members will not be available so we found replacements for them. When my teammate called USBC on how we can replace the unavailable bowlers, the USBC person said that we have to wait for the official confirmation of our singles/doubles schedule which she said is approximately a month before we bowl or about the first week of June. We already have USBC confirmation for the team event which is on July 3rd.

Did any of you guys need to replace team members in the past for the Nationals? How did you do it? I appreciate your help.

Thanks!

I tried calling USBC again but the recording required me to dial the extension of the person I wanted to talk to and when I did not (as I do not know the extension), the recording said, "Bye".

I am hoping that somebody can help. There is even a post here that is selling his team spot sometime in May so replacements have been done before, I am almost sure.

if all else fails, just make the changes when you get there. they'll do that on the spot.

About a month before you bowl you will recieve a roster confirmation sheet. Make any changes on that, make a copy for yourself, and mail it back in. I have had to do this the past three years, and they can even make the changes once you get to Reno. If you wait till then, just make sure that you have copies of everybody's sanction numbers and go the day before you bowl.

You can always Fax the info to them, we have to do that every year

I had problems like this last year and I am also having even more of the same this year (6 out of 15 people have backed out on me this year...boo!).  Anyway when I called the USBC they told me to just wait until I check my team(s) in and they will process all the changes at that time.  I did this also last year, with no problems whatsoever.

I also printed all of my team's sanction cards and for my classified bowlers, I also printed the average history and copied pages from our local association year book and used these at check-in time.

I hope this helps, good luck.
