Title: What if this happened to you?
Post by: sawsemdown on March 09, 2017, 08:40:30 PM
You spend lots of money to bowl in a prestigous tournament. Fly halfway across the country to bowl, in the OPEN DIVISION,  on an oil pattern that everyone says the only way to score on it, is to work together.  Be paired up on the lanes with 2 older women, in the classified division, throwing conventional drilled urethane balls, all over the place. I would guess that neither of these ladies averaged 140.

If this happened to you, that's a shame, but it does happen.

I think I might've tried to get hold if an official and see if I could possibly be moved to a pair with other OPEN DIVISION level bowlers.

Please, don't blame the ladies. It isn't their fault they got put with you, I believe it must've either been just fate, or some type of weird oversight on somebodies part.

I don't blame tha ladies at all. Had this experience with a couple classified men in Reno , a couple years ago. They at least played the same part of the lane somewhat. It just makes a tough shot, impossible.

Yea that does suck. I always make sure to pair my team with a similar companion team. If you sub with someone else, or just take one team, you are ate the mercy of the people running the show.

We have 2 teams. 6 bowlers per pair now. That leaves an opening on 1 pair.

Exactly what happened to us last year. We had 10 bowlers, but they spread us out across 3 pairs. My partner and I were put with TWO teams of classified women throwing plastic at the head pin. We were not pleased.

The worst part was how completely avoidable it was. The group with the women consisted of 5 doubles teams - 3 classified and 2 regular. They could have easily put us with the 2 regular teams and put the 3 classified teams together. As we found out, logic takes a back seat to simply not giving a shit.
