« on: April 24, 2021, 08:43:39 AM »
This will be my 3rd attempt at Nationals, want some feedback of what to bring as far as
Equipment. I have the following.

Jackal Ghost, Reality, Physix, Venom Shock, Zen, and Katana Legend

Ghost is the only pin down ball, looking to bring only 3.

I think this year is a real wild card.

The real question(to me) is "Are they going to adjust the pattern volume for less bowlers?"

The past several years the pattern has been pretty much the same with the lane breaking down and drying up toward the end of the set. Especially for doubles/singles. This might just apply to my group as we always seem to have one or two bowlers who "need" a surface prep with the texture of a cinder block.

As I understand it, there will be only one team on a pair for team and 4 bowlers on a pair for doubles and singles. This cuts down the amount of traffic on the pattern by half for teams and 30% for D/S. Therefore, the aforementioned question becomes important.

Not that this will matter that much to me, since I haven't thrown a ball in over a year.

But on a positive note, there will be plenty of room for luggage.  ;D

To Milo's point, I have thought about that and have decided to pack a bag on the heavier end of things....

I wouldn't expect anything longer than 43" or anything shorter than 38" so volume would be the correct question.  It may be lessened, but with decreased traffic I do wonder how much it would affect things.

At the end of the day it will be shot-maker stuff.  Bet on that....
