Few questions about Knoxville
« on: May 13, 2003, 11:10:20 PM »
It looks like I am heading down to Knoxville the middle of next month and since more people should have returned by now, I have a few questions.

Did anyone have any success down there first shift (team), and if so with an x-factor or maybe a carbide lrg (those figure to be my goto balls down there?

Anyone bowl the 40 frame game, and how did that shot shape up? (I have read comments on the BJ and the BTM tourneys but didn't see anything on this one)

Anyone know where a good cheap hotel that has a good location may be?

And when bowling any of the other tournaments down there would you guys recommend 1st shift or try to go after they have had a chance to break down?

Any help is appreciated as I am not expecting to go down and tear the house up, but would like to hit my avg a few games.  Thanks

GOOD LUCK at the "ABC", I felt like a "ROOKIE"!!!! Shot 440 in team... I did not bowl in the "BJ" or "BTM", but the "40 Frame Game" was (for me) a standard house shot.

Agreed on all stated above from many returnees. Staying down there, there is a lot of cheap hotels. We are paying $59/night for a suite (indoor pool+ breakfast) and have heard of the $40's/ night at many a place. Ask for business rate or search online at discount places such as hotwire or cheapticket.com. Many places have lots of rooms left and are within 10-15 minutes max. Good luck will be there in two weeks.
