Anything nice 10-20 minuets away will be ok, I will have a car. What are good areas to stay in? Where should we stay away from?

yes the embassy, is just a bit to far to walk to and from with equipment, cause you have to go all the way around the convention center to get in, but it is a short drive, or take the free shuttle from the motel,

I stayed at the Comfort Inn by the airport. I used hotwire.com to get a room for under $40/night and I noticed a couple of other decent hotels in the area as well that would probably fall into the same class or a half-step higher (2.5-3 stars). The room was okay and the hotel was clean and wasn't run down. It was pretty easy to get to the convention center and the centers that the BTM/FFG were at weren't that far away (15 minutes or so).

Our group stayed at the Plaza Suites by Marriot.  It was pretty much between the BTM BJI and the Convention Center.  The hotel was great.

We stayed at the Howard Johnsons. It was around $165 total for the Fri.,Sat.,Sun. we were there. Room was clean and even included breakfast (Waffles, scrambled eggs,biscuts/gravy,toast,cereal etc...) Booked through USBC at that rate. One thing to do is if you need 2 beds and you book w/ usbc make sure and call the H.J. after confirmation to make sure you get 2 beds as the USBC does not make sure of it. We only had a king but, they gave us rollaway till we could be moved the next night as they were full. It was about 10 minutes or so away from convention center.

Stay away from the Holiday Inn on Menaul...The rooms are ok but the front desk help was aweful.  The key cards don't work and they don't really care!

We stayed at the Sheraton Uptown about 5 blocks north of the BJ & BTM (which are across the street from each other). The rooms were good and the price was fair. There is some construction and the price for drinks in the lobby bar are high. It is out east, but easy access to everything.

If you want more detail, please PM.
