Title: Ogre
Post by: admin on December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM
Using state of the are coverstock technology and the newly designed OGRE core, this ball is a must have for nearly all bowling styles.

The OGRE solid utilizes our newly designed Eradicator coverstock; a strong solid reactive shell that cuts through the oil, and handles carrydown extremely well.  While the coverstock is designed for medium to heavier house shots, it is very user friendly and can be easily adjusted to cover a wide range of oil patterns.

The OGRE is powered by a symmetrical, dual density core design without a wrap.  This allows for a thicker, more uniform coverstock for extra resilience and energy at impact with the pins.  The dense flip cap helps create a strong move at it''s breakpoint, while the body of the core helps to provide a consistent reaction without the typical over/under you see from many reactives.  In addition, this core allows for minor mistakes in hand position, without suffering the consequences.

The OGRE core is the final modification of the design used in the Centaur/AMB/Immortal lines.  Anyone who''s thrown the Green/Blue Centaur and any of the AMBs or Immortals would have experienced first hand the tremendous differences created by the placement and densities of the various caps.  The single flip cap design produces more flare than the Green/Blue Centaur but less than the Immortals and AMBs.

Finish:  600 Matte
Hardness:  75-77
RG:  Low (2.59")
Flare:  Med/Low (.029" differential)  3-5" flare
Avail. Wts:  13-16# (OGRE core)
10-12# (on request - light wt. core)
Lane Conditions:  Med-Med/Heavy Oil
Color:  Orange/Black
Coverstock:  Eradicator - Reactive Solid

first i want to say thanks to betsy at visionary for getting me the multiple balls quickly.
i drilled up the ogre first: 15lbs 3-4 pin 3.17 top. drilled with pin above center of bridge, cg in center of grip. mb 90* from thumb. no weight hole needed.
took surface of ball up with brunswick rough buff.
started out on fresh oil ths. heavy oil from 15-15 slightly lower units from 15-5 and buff from 5 to gutter.
started standing 25 with left foot  sent ball across 20 to 5 and left turn to the pocket.
the ball was much stronger than i had thought it would be. i threw multiple shots with different hand positions but the ball had a very strong move left at the break point. i used this ball in league and it handed the carry down with ease. this ball will be the first out of my bag from now on.

Well, this was the ball that got me into the Visionary realm. Wanted to try something new and this ball, with its low diff., intrigued me.

Ordered up from buddies pro shop. 15.2# 3"pin and 2.5 oz of tw.

Wanted a strong, but controllable drill. Wound up drilling it pin right and below ring, cg in palm.

Immediately after drilling, I put it on the resurface machine and took it to 2000 abralon. The 600 grit oob would have been way too much for my house.

Got the ball and took it to the lanes for league. Late league, left over shot from open bowling. Spotty medium heads with carrydown.

Got lined up playing over 12 at the arrows out to 8. Ball had a nice, smooth move to the pocket. Read the mids niceley and made a strong but smooth turn on the backend. I assume that the carrydown tamed the reaction somewhat. Very nice and controlled reaction on this pattern. As the night went on and more carrydown became present, I started ringing corners. So, a small hand position change and the ball was right back in the pocket.

Got to try it again the following week on a pair that hadn't been used. Medium oil, fresh backends. Again, the ball revved up in the mids, but due to the clean backends it moved a bit stronger on the backend. It wasn't uncontrollable by any means, but definitely stronger off the dry. Again, either moving in deeper, changing hand positions, or a combination of both helped get the ball to the pocket.

So, currently, I have 10 games on the ball and am very impressed with it. Even at 2000 abralon, it is quite a bit of ball. OOB could definitely handle med/hvy with no problem.

The roll on this ball is very true and controllable. It responds well to hand position changes very well too.

Hit is different than most other balls I've thrown. This ball just pushes everything straight back, literally. No messengers or anything of that sort. It just plows through the pins.

Overall, I think I got exactly what I wanted out of this ball. A great benchmark piece for med. conditions. This ball tells me where the oil is and where it is not. Very good experience for my first Visionary piece.

I'd have to give this one a 9/10.

The OGRE solid utilizes an newly designed coverstock
Which a symmetrical, dual density core design without a wrap
It’s interesting and easy to drill and set up.
The OGRE core is  an modification of the design used in the Centaur/AMB/Immortal lines.
The single flip cap design  produces more flare than the Green/Blue Centaur but less than the Immortals .

This is a good Ball to fill your Bowling equipment variation Zone.
The Orgy has a nice, smooth move to the pocket.
Reads the midline and make a strong but smooth turn on the backend.
I shined the ball from box condition so it would retain more energy
From Finish: 600 Matte to 1500,

This ball is clean thru the heads  with a earlier read then the Immortals
As a Mid- lane reader this  ball was much stronger than I had thought it would be.
I tried the Orgy  in multiple houses and  different  lane Conditions still  the ball had Positive movements
Impact is  resilience leaving  much needed energy for impact with the pins.
Because it a middle condition ball it may not be suitable for heavy oiled lanes

I drilled the ball to be aggrissive even though the ball is meant for medium i found it hooks very early and it reads the midlane well and has a continuous hook into the pocket i normally put the ball at 10 it tended to leave to many 10 pins though

My specs:
Left handed, ball speed around 16 MPH, rev rate around 300 RPM, axis rotation of around 60 degrees, and axis tilt around 30 degrees.

Visionary is a company I’ve been keeping my eye on for a while, so I thought I would give them a try.  I’ve heard good things about the durability of their coverstocks, and I like their core designs that don’t utilize a wrap.  I decided to try the Ogre Solid first.  Drilled it up with a 4.5” axis-to-pin distance with the CG stacked.  I put the pin very high, about an inch off the vertical axis line.  I’ve used this pattern before, and it usually gives me good length with a very defined move on the back end.  The “maiden voyage” was in a PBA Experience league on the Viper pattern.  The first three games out of the box were 224, 235, and 227 for a very nice 686.  This is in a house where I averaged 218 on the house shot.  This ball draws attention to itself before you ever throw it.  The color alone was drawing people over to look at it as soon as I put it on the rack.  It drew even more attention its first trip down the lane.  A little 10 to 8 shot, good length, and a nice controllable arc at the finish.  Pins stayed very low, 10 in the pit.  Shot after shot was the same thing.  An occasional corner pin stood, but a very consistent roll and reaction.  As the night went on I got a little carry down, but by the third game the only adjustment was to go straight up 8.  Overall impression was that this would make an excellent “benchmark” and “keep it in play” ball.  This instantly became my first ball out of the bag.  For me, it seems to work better playing straighter to the break point, without giving too much of the pocket away.  There is not enough differential to be a “coast to coast” ball unless you’ve got a lot more hand than me.  It reacts very consistently and smoothly.  Some people would say that this is not very exciting.  I guess that’s true, unless you consider living in the pocket exciting.  When you can throw game after game and not remember the last time you missed the pocket, I’ll take that over an eye-popping back end every time.  All in all, I’m extremely pleased with the ball and can’t wait to try another one of Visionary’s products.

Layout: 4 1/2 X 4 1/4
Pin distance: 3-4, top weight 3.5 ounces
surface at 4000 abralon, then at 2000 abralon
Style: High rev rate
Ball Speed: 18 to 19 mph, per Qubica

The Pin ended up over my ring finger and the cg stacked and a little right. I was using this as my first ball out of the bag on a medium heavy THS.  The higher RG allowed the ball to get through the heads easily but still have a lot of pop at the pins.  I had the ball at 4000 abralon, but it was to snappy of the end of the pattern, changed cover to 2000 abralon to read sooner.  For me this works out to be a solid medium heavy oil ball that still retains a lot of hitting power.  I have thought about taking this back to 4000 abralon and adding polish to have a great skid snap ball, but I will need to get another solid and probably drill it pin down.  I now have no fear of the ball reading to early with the pin down due to the RG.

So far I am playing the same area of the lanes as others are with Schorchin Inferno's and doing so at a much more bowler friendly price.  The diff is rather low but this does keep the ball predictible and easy to read, I can increase my revs and move inside of 4th arrow with this ball and I still have great recovery.  I have yet to find a down side for this ball, other than it shows dirt due to the bright color, but I clean the ball as soon as I am done any ways.

I am very pleased with this ball, it gets easily through the heads and has a great turn to the pocket in medium heavy oil that in the past only came from high end bowling balls for me.

Finally got a chance to try this ball in league play. Oil machine malfunction, lots of oil all over the lane. 229 high game playing strait up the boards at the 10. Great ball in the oil. OOB finish, have to try change to cover to see what happens.

alright fellow bowlers, you would think a ball such as this would be great on the heavy oil and completely can itself when the cover is changed. i have 2 of these great rolling machines, one out of box finish and 1 with a high polish. the house pattern i see is a perfect medium match for the polished Ogre.

pin location: below the ring finger and 1" right
CG location: stacked but slightly into the palm
lets not forget my PAP is 6" right of the center of grip
no weight hole

totally loving the polished Ogre when the lanes are drying up. i can play this ball 10 to 5 and without a second look, it smashes the pocket. as most of my Visionary balls do, the pins all stay low to the deck giving me extra carry. for those looking for a great ball no matter what condition you see on the lanes, the Ogre should be in the top 3 of your choices. with tug room and push room, miss-hit releases don't tend to hurt me much. most shots that i miss my mark by a board or two tend to carry 10, great for those nights when you want to show off by spanking some butt with your score!

Visionary isn't a formilliar company in The netherlands and I like to try something new/different. I bought the ogre to be my 'early rolling ball'.

I was afraid this ball would roll too soon with it's 600 gritt, so i decided to give it a long and not that strong drilling.

Player:
*23-24 km/h (about 15 mph)
*normal revs
*medium tilt

Ball:
*14 pounds
*3-4"pin
*3 ounce topweight

The pin it about an inch over the bridge and the CG is directly below it. Guess this would make it a 5/5.5 inch pin-to-pap. No X-hole

Due to it's low differential in combination with this weak drilling, it doesn't flare much (about 1 inch). It doesnt read that much midlane, so i have to play straight lines with it. On a THS (40 feet) i'm able to play board 12-5, but on a flat pattern i really need to play tight.

It's strange to watch a 600 gritt ball getting much length and just starts to read when it hits the dry. Even with this drilling I expected an earlier read.

When the backends are really dry, this ball is wonderfull. It gets down the lane in a straight line and then flips hard. When there it some carrydown, this ball won't flip anymore. It gets a more angular reaction, wich makes it hit the pocket to far in the back - leaving 10 pins. Playing more tight is the solution.
The ball needs to hit some dry spots to react good. It has an over-under reaction, but im pretty sure its because of the way the ball was drilled.
I really do like the carry of this ball; it keeps the pins low. Most flat hits still fall, where most balls leave buckets.

It's a great ball for me, its just not the early roller/heavy oil ball i thought it would be.

Lane Conditions: Heavy Oil
Typical Conditions: Variety of Shots
Type of Lane: Combination
What part of the lane did you play? Fourth Arrow
Did the ball track out? Normal
Weight of bowling ball: 15
Surface of bowling ball: Sanded
What grit was the surface of the ball? Grey Scotch Brite

Likes: Ogre Solid got into a roll very quickly and created a ton of friction to cut through the oilier lane conditions. Very strong motion snapping motion in the front part of the lane.

Dislikes: My Ogre Solid came out of the box looking like 320 grit, and it got way to much friction, I had to bring the surface up to 2000 and it preformed better. But the ball would burn up and loose its energy very quickly unless it was a flood.

Ogre Solid is good only in oil the ball creates a ton of friction in the front part of the lane. Polishing the Ogre Solid would help the ball get a little more length but it was still way to strong for anything other than a flood of oil. Speed dominate players will love this ball because it’s going to create as much friction as possible. Rev dominates and softer ball speeds will general not care for this ball because of the amount of friction it does create.

Weight: 15.2
Top: 2.5
Pin: 2 1/2”
Layout: 3 3/8 X 4
Side Weight: 3/4 Ounce Positive (No Weight Hole)

Comparing to what’s in my bag:

Black Widow Bite - 3 3/8 X 4 – 2000 Abralon
Ogre Solid gets into a roll much faster than the Black Widow Bite, and is as sharp at the break point. But the Black Widow Bite still ended up covering a few more boards even in the really heavy lane conditions.

Ogre Pearl - 3 3/4 X 3 3/4 – Box Finish
Ogre Solid rolls a lot earlier that the Ogre Pearl even if you apply polish to it. Overall it will cover about 8-10 boards more when the lanes are fresh, but as they break down the Ogre Solid will start to burn up its energy. Switching to the Ogre Pearl will get you that extra length and finish making it a great ball change as the lanes break down.

My Stats:
Right Handed
Speed: 16-19 mph
Rev Rate Not sure

Bowling Ball Specs:
Weight: 16.00
Top Weight:3.04
Pin: 2-3
Layout of ball: Stacked Leverage
Surface of bowling ball: Box Finish (600 Matte)

Lane Conditions: House Shot
Type of Lane: Synthetics

Likes: Ball hits like a truck! I can move to different lines and performs well.

Dislikes: (Not the ball's fault) I can only use it for two games tops because of the amount of oil they are putting out this summer. Can't wait to use it in the winter!!

I really like this ball. Haven't played with the cover that much other then going from 600 matte, to 1000 matte and the ball wasn't moving like I enjoyed it at 600 so it went back.

Wanted to get a solid, strong ball for oil and been wanting to try another Visionary ball which I haven't thrown one in a long time. Before I got it drilled I didn't think I'd care for the rough finish on it so left it as is for now and applied polish by hand to it. Whether it would make much difference I don't know, but I didn't want to apply too much to it for right now.
Most of my equipment is drilled for length, around 5" to the PAP with various CG/mass bias placements. My other strong ball is a No Mercy drilled 4" to the PAP stacked. I basically went with around that, having the ring finger left of the pin with the CG stacked. Couldn't make up my mind how I wanted it. Was going to have the CG towards the track but changed my mind last minute. Turns out I am glad I did.
The reaction at house 1 with dry heads, hang outside of 7 and carry down was interesting. Had to stand 30 then moved to 35 playing around the 3-4 arrow out to 10ish. The ball is very "rolly". Starts to make a minor move past the arrows and looks like it is just going to take off but it doesn't. Missed left and it went left. Missed a little right had some recovery to a point at least. It has a gradual soft arc too it. Nothing too crazy but the ball doesn't quit either on the back end. Carried well on lighter hits and kept the pins low.
League on a light oil/good back end I stood on 25 starting at 12-8, then 15/third arrow and then 17 third game. That would have been the max before I would have needed to move 5 boards left after that. Had some terrific hits including 3 messengers. The ball rolled well through the heads and and a predictable, continuous arch to it.
Comparing it to my Hammer No Mercy with a similar layout and that is 1000 Abarlon, the No Mercy gets better length with a stronger, sometimes less predictable movement at the break point. The Ogre hooks earlier, revs up much easier and has about 3-5 boards less hook. Overall a terrific ball. I can't wait to try it on a particular heavier PBA or heavier oil house shot too see if I can try play a little straighter.

This ball i decided to use a 5X3 layout, surface was kept at OOB. I drilled this ball up specifically for tournaments where PBA patterns were being used. The drill was to get the ball through the front part of the lane due to the fact that i would almost always be bowling on second shifts due to my schedule but be able to handle carrydown with the surface. This ball worked perfectly, the ball made me over $750 within the first three months of getting it. I even found that this ball works exceptionally well on even the cheetah pattern to help me even out the overreaction.

Hello Visionary fans.

Old wood lanes with typical heavier oil in center with hooking track area. Was amazed how many boards I was able to cover with the OOB surface. Keep in mind I have slower speed with medium revs and would say my "A" game is playing fairly straight 15 to 10. With this piece was able to play 18-19 board to 6-7. Now I did not carry every shot from that angle but was able to play that area out the gate longer than most players with minimal moving. The ball did not care about the carry down. What a bonus!!

Also rolled on synthetics. Very interesting for my game. The lanes played the way I like them out the gate around that 15-10 zone with my feet at 22 board. After 3 games the lanes got ugly. Burn up early, put some speed in the same zone and the ball was then weak on the backs due to break point carry down. Tried my new GLADIATOR SOLID and this piece did not like the angles (over/under) with the OOB surface. OK went back to the OGRE and took a little off the speed, moved feet to 32 and target at 22-23 board and it just opened up the whole lane. Even oops a couple releases from my target to about 7 board and the OGRE still reacted to the pocket. WOW just added another dimension to my game when needed!!

Overall a nice adder to my arsenal at a great price. Very versatile and the cover stock is very durable. A must have for any bowler wanting a smooth but yet strong controllable reaction!!!

Drill specs: Pin 3-3/8" from PAP with weight hole, 3/4" side weight.

Ball has 2" pin and I had it drilled for med house condition. When I threw this ball, I was in awe of its hitting power. This ball turns harder than my immortal solid. I moved way inside to 25 swung the ball out to 10 board. The ball had no problems with getting back to the pocket with authority. I was not able to use it for three games, because the ball was just hitting to hard and I was leaving alot of 9's and 8's.This will be the first ball out of my bag, especially when there alot of long oil .This ball needs plenty of oil. This is a must have in your arsenal.

I have this ball drilled 4 1/4 x 3 (pin slightly up and to the left of ring finger) with a weight hole on my PAP. (LH 4 3/4 over 1/2 up).  Rev rate 300-425 RPM's with moderate ball speed 17-18.5 mph.    I've tested this ball pretty extensively on both synthetic and wood.
OOB on the synthetic THS's:  Needed to be pretty deep 19-20 at the arrows to about 6-7.  The ball rolls extremely well (nice moderate rolly arc) but had a tendency to burn out just a bit (hanging lots of corners).  Brought the ball to 1000 and was able to get to about 16-17 area with a little better luck.  The ball still had a tendency to fry a little from the rim but still features the same ball shape which was a positive.
Once again, multiple angles and hand positions enabled this ball to the pocket but the carry was just not quite what I wanted.
I went a little radical by bringing the surface up to 4000 abralon with Extender polish.  The hitting power increased dramatically and the look ended up being pretty much straight up 10 (baby belly to 8 was OK but revs were needed).  I loved the added length and the move off of the spot still was the rolly arc, but I wanted to open the lane up a little bit more because my fun game is to feed it left when I can.  I hit the bow ties with green Scotch Brite and now I'm in love with this ball.  Length to get down the lane and preserving the hitting power and the extra surface only where needed to give me the increased angle...
OOB on the wood house: (41' with VERY light volume on the left side).  Too much ball for me.  30-10 was OK with tons of speed, but that's not really in my game.  Even at 4000 with Extender I needed to be just left of 5th arrow.  I was expecting this because it isn't a (desert) dry lane ball and the ball showed this, but it did show the same characteristics (bit of rollout/hanging the corners) as it did on the synthetics when the matchup wasn't correct.  In other words, it's very readable and WILL "tell" you (practically shout it out at you) when it needs to be put in the bag....ANOTHER positive.
All in all.....very tweakable, smooth rolling, controllable, VERY hard hitting ball that for me features a comparable ball shape to the Gladiator Pearl, but with between 8-10 boards more of overall hook.  Speed dominant players and tweeners should love this ball OOB or with very minor tweaks.  This ball needs oil to clear the mids and retain the hit on the back.  Power puppies will love this ball because of the controlability.  Like with any ball, just know when to break it out and when to either put it away or just keep it in the bag which will be pretty easy because it likes to strike on a pretty wide variety of med-light to med-oil conditions.
Visionary produces very versatile, controllable and durable equipment and this one is no exception.    Try one out and you'll see what I mean.

I joined the Visionary test staff, and have setup the following arsenal
for all ranges of conditions.  I chose the 4 balls package, exchanged the
bag for an extra ball and bought a 6th ball too.  Any one can join the test
staff, so I'm not partial to the company, but found them myself from others
sugestions on how durable and long lasting while high performing visionary
balls are.  Also all mine are aimed at playing mostly outside straighter lines
with an arc, no angular type reactions.  They can play inside quite nicely
though still, so very versitile.

Heavy Oil:              Ogre Partical    600 Grit scotchbright  4" 75x65 Drill
Medium-Heavy Oil:       Ogre Solid       OOB Surface  4 1/2" 45x42 Drill
Medium Oil(bench mark) Gladiator Solid  1000 Abralon 3 5/8" 45x55 Drill
Medium-Light Oil:       Ogre Pearl       OOB Surface  4 1/2" 60x45 Drill
Light Oil:              Gladiator LE     OOB Surface  5" 75x42 Drill
Dry/Spare ball:         Ogre Urethane    OOB Surface  5" 105x42 Drill

All balls around 3 ounces top weight, top 3 are 3" pins, bottom 3 are 4" pins.
My Speed 17 Mph
I have Low-Med Revs
My PAP is 5 5/8" and 5/8" UP

The Ogre Solid is my Medium-Heavy oil ball.  The pin is about 12:30
above my ring finger, CG is kicked out to the right of the pin a bit.

I used this on a fresh house shot, which I was very impressed with
how controllable and predictable the ball behaved.  It definitely
has a very nice arc and I was able to know it would strike if I hit
my mark.  I was able to bowl a 241 with it, which is just a few points
off of my highest score ever, so happy with the ball.  It hits hard and
keeps the pins low, gave me plenty of breaks even if I missed the pocket
slightly.  The Ogre core definitely hits very nicely, or actually it
hits in a very angry way, had lots of times where pins just flew sideways
and sweeped any remaining pins trying to stay standing.  The coverstock is
very nice and durable, seems like it'll last because it feels less brittle
than my previous balls from companies like Storm.  Also I could play my
line a lot longer without it drying out, the ball doesn't seem to soak
up all the oil and require me to move as fast.  I eventually moved to my
Medium oil ball, the Gladiator Solid, but more to try it out since the
Ogre Solid probably would have kept working fine around the same line I had
played 10 or more games on.

Hello to all! After some low-lifes stole my car, that had all my equipment, and my son's...After the insurance company paid for the stolen equipment...I decided to give visionary a try! I personally haven't seen anyone in my area(Lexington,Ky) throw this equipment! So I called visionary to try the test program...I've never been any happier with the equipment that I received! The ogre solid, ogre pearl, ogre ss, and the urethane! Having the pro-shop guy drill them out, I preceded to roll with confidence again!

my stats: slow rolling tweener, about 14-15mph, about 300 rpm's. I personnal like to start at 24, rolling to the 10 to 8 board. The ogre solid, has the pin drilled next to the ring finger. with the cg at a 11:00 shift. Even with the higher rg, and lower diff, I WAS SURPRISED BY THE POP THIS BALL HAS! I've had lower rg, higher diff ball that did not explode at the pins, that this series of equipment has...BAR NONE! This summer, I've rolled better, this season than I could have expected! I was rolling on the typical summer pattern here in the midwest, the ogre just laughed at this and struck! again, and again. I started out with games of 249,245, and 205, for a series of 699! The ball struck and carried on some bad hits, heavy hits, light mixers, carryovers! the next week I shot 233,266, and 215 for a 714 series and 30 clean frames! And I'll say That this ball it's not all magical, but at the end of the league just last week, using only visionary equipment I average 213! I haven't done that since 1995! Will it work for you?, possibly, will i go back to the others...NOPE. Since the start of my friendship with visionary, I've gotten the b/g centaur, the clear gargoyle, solid immortal, and the solid centaur! And in the last weekend at the bluegrass state games, I qualified in three events, and received two gold medals! All with the Visionary equipment! So in ending, I would like to thank, all the staff at visionary for helping myself...and maybe to the low-lifes who sent me to the door of this great company....

***Update***

Last week, using my centaur's while the lanes were so over/under. I switch to the ogres this week, and I was glad, while rolling a 542 last week, and with a high game of 206, the ogre solid surface 1000grit(Grey pad) and some polished I procedded to roll 246,225,210 for a 681 series! While I needed to make quicker adjustments, the ogre responded to the moves well, with no fear! So while I may have switch, i'm glad to know that the visionary equipment I have can get the job done!

Well guys after 5 weeks of bowling this year I am finally able to post some reviews of the visionary stuff that I have been using this year.  Over the summer I was able to get my hands on a Gladiator Solid, Gladiator LE, Solid Ogre, and a Gryphon 3.   All balls give me different looks with the same drilling on each.  All balls have the pin above the bridge and the mb 3 inches from the thumb.  This layout usually gives me a good about of length through the front part of the lane and gives me a strong continuous backend reaction.  I am a lefty with ball speed around 18mph.

The Ogre Solid was another ball I was excited about.  Like the Gladiator solid this one out of the box was going to be way too much surface for me.  I first took this guy to 1000k and thought I would see if I could use it and just as I anticipated it was just too much for me.  So back to the proshop and took this guy up to 2000k and was still too much so at this point I decided to take it up to 4000 and add some polish.  This is where things get interesting for me because of the reaction I get compared to the Gladiator.  This one for me is cleaner through the front part of the lane and then gives me more backend than the Gladiator Solid.  This ball for me is another great ball for the house conditions because it doesn’t seem to over react when it hits the dry.

Likes: When I first bought this ball, I was shocked at how much it hooked, more than I expected.  Could not throw it at box finish as it wanted to roll too soon with my rev rate.  I experimented with the cover at 1000 and then 2000.  At 2000, it was more on the backend then what I wanted, so I took it back to 1000 and the ball was absolutely golden.  On my second shift league last year, once the track went away, it was time to put it up.  Hooked way to soon.  Fast forward to this season.  I am bowling on a first shift league, fresh oil, with high volume in the middle.  The ball shines on this condition.  I was able to keep my lines fairly tight though had to play more inside away from the outside friction.  Ball only flares about 2.5-3 inches for me so the best line for me with this ball is standing 22-23, playing 15-17 at the arrows with 10-12 breakpoint.  If I miss a little outside, it doesnt over react on me.  In comparison to my Crossover, it complements it well.  Hook amount is about the same but look is quite a bit different with the 1000 abralon finish compared to the 2000 with Factory Finish on the Crossover.  What is nice, is that if the Crossover start to be uncontrollable, the Ogre can play the same starting with my feet and targeting in the same spot.  But, with the duller finish, it is much more controllable.

Likes: Stole this ball from my brother as it really wasnt working well for him
Layout is 60*4 1/2*30......
2 1/2 pin to CG  surface is 2000 light polish

I already had a sanded solid ball and was looking for a compliment so 2000 and polish is where i decided to start.

Heavy oil to light oil.. the ogre glides through the mids gets to the break point makes a very nice arc to the pocket.  Hitting power is above average. Good continuation.

What i like the most is the versatility I get.  I can get left and swing it, or square up and let it roll.

This ball reminds me of my original danger zone, no matter what the shot is I can get this thing to the pocket. But unlike my danger zone the Ogre carries 100% better.

Dislikes: its 15lbs....  I had switched to 14lbs because my ball driller was trying to cripple me.  So I have become accustomed to 14# equipment and later in the night it feels like im throwing a boat anchor.

Likes:This is great ball more versatile than you would think by the oob finish. The cover is very exceptable to adjustments.

Dislikes: NONE
This is my second Ogre. This one I had to apply some compound to the cover over the oob finish to accomidate my present house conditions.  This is still a geat ball even today. Mine is drilled with the pin out to the left of my ring finger (lefty) and the cg is below and kicked out about an 1-2". The ball gives me a very heavy roll with a very predictable move off the end of the pattern. It's equally good on wood and synthetic lanes.
