Hi All,

I'm proud to present to you The Gladiator Solid Video from Visionary.

http://www.videoballreviews.com/gladiator.html

This Video Features a special guest tester VBP Staff Member John Delp III

My Take on the ball:

Prolly one of the Best VBP balls i have thrown to date...this thing is so consistent and smooth

Hows this comparison for you, the continuation of a cell with the control of a gamebreaker....

For those of you who havent tried a Visionary bowling ball, this is a great Benchmark to start with, try them you wont be disappointed.  And for you Diehard Visionary fans, we have yet another winner to add to our arsenals...This is definetly a winner that i can see working for multiple styles and on multiple lane conditions

Enjoy! And as always comments and questions are welcome!

At the same surface with the same layout, they actually Complement each other pretty well...i think the Diff and strength of covers are the determining factors here...The Gladiator Flares more and allows me to get in and circle the lane more, The Ogre Solid forces me to play straighter on the lane and closer to the dry because it doesnt flare as much...i also think the Galea Cover is stronger than Eradicator (again at the same surface)

There is a definite advantage to having both, as it can give you two different looks on the same pattern...

Great vid Britton!! Doing that comparison between the Ogre and the Gladiator really helped me see the differences between the two.

While I'm not sure I need something as strong as the Gladiator, I can't find a real good reason not to get one!!

Depending on layout, condition used on and one's stats.  Gladiator is the PERFECT benchmark ball for the Visionary line much better than the Solid Ogre....IMO.  It is not this huge hooking monster some think it is unless you have no speed and are super rev dominant.

Shot a nice series with mine last night and it continues to prove itself.  SMOOTH...roll.

2-3 boards less total hook than a Cell with same layout and same surface for me with the Gladiator less midlane about 2' longer.

Rock, I am in the same boat as you. Don't know that I need it but it sure looks fun!

Britton,
Great video. Probably the best to date, VBP or other. Keep up the good work.

Something I noticed.  I sure thought that the Gladiator was going to be an assymetrical ball, just from looking at the core.  But watching the video and the layout portion of it, I didn't notice a MB marking.  Does this mean that this beast is indeed symetrical? Great video by the way Britton.

Far as I am concerned it is.  No MB, marking and acts like a symmetrical ball to me.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What does it say on the drillsheet?

Website says:  The GLADIATOR line is equipped with an asymmetrical, dense center core design with a lighter wrap.

Drill sheet normal Visionary drill sheet nothing about MB/asymmetrical drilling. Step #1 Flip Pin Location and Step #2 CG location Step #3 Balance Hole Location and Step #4 Surface Finish.

I believe its assymetrical by design, but the MB strength (int. diff) is not strong enough to warrant marking a MB...

I was talking with Jason and he said the reaction can be fine tuned by moving the mohawk around...just imagine a strip 2" wide running through the pin and cg...I would love to drill up like 4 or 5 of these and move that MoHawk around and turn it different angles to see what slight variations i could come up with...but like scotts said all standard symmetrical layouts will work, jason also told me he has one drilled label and he really likes the way it rolls, i have been thinking about doing this with my second one...if i do i will let you all know how it works

Like i said it will be interesting to see what they do with this core in the future, but right now they have cover and core matched up very well with this one...be interesting to see what the pearl is like
