Title: *~Visionary Ogre Particle Video from Videoballreviews.com!~*
Post by: VideoBallReviews on July 16, 2008, 08:16:00 AM
Hi All,

I'm proud to present to you The Visionary OGRE Particle Video.

http://www.videoballreviews.com/ogreparticle.html

My Take on the Ball:

First let me say i am amazed at the interest in when this video was coming...the amount of e-mails and PM's i got makes me realize alot of you are getting the Visionary Fever!

The Ogre line is known for its great performances at a great pricepoint, and the Ogre Particle does not disappoint.  It really rounds out the Ogre Line nicely...

The Ogre Particle provides a unique reaction which is hard to come by.  A particle ball with a low differental core.  The low diff core provides excellent length for a particle ball, but you can see (and literally feel) this thing dig its teeth into lane.  This is a ball all tournament and league bowlers will want to have in their bag.  Tournament bowlers for the control it provides on tougher patterns.  League bowlers for the way it tames over/under shots.  On the house shot it was hard to miss the pocket, shots leaked right rolled off the dry without over reacting, while shots placed in the oil had no problem finishing.

Now as with ALL particle balls, you are going to have to know when to put this ball away.  It WILL roll out if you dont have enough volume, unless you have a good amount of ball speed.

Great new release from Visionary!

As always Comments and Questions are welcome!

Wow, that ball looks super smooth and really does look like a great tournament ball, IMO.

I don't know, Visionary is calling my name or something lol.

I'd agree but in your case with lower pin positions you'd see more roll out in OOB condition on less oil.  Higher pins may allow for less rollout for some.  But, that's not what the ball is for anyway.

Ball motion looks to me to be same as Black and Purple Pearl very consistent roll.

I agree scott, but as with other visionary particles, i have a feeling this ball is going to be a little more cover dominant than your average reactive ball, not anywhere near as much as an AMB Particle, but its gonna be hard to get this ball to do something other than its designed to do, which is roll, roll, roll with just a layout change...now what I have been told is that when you polish this ball, you can easily get more length, but it should retain that smooth backend reaction...i havent tried it personally, but plan too when things settle down a bit!

Added on edit:

you nailed it with the similar reaction to the ogre pearl, the ball is closer in reaction to the pearl than the solid in my opinion

Yep Britton.  Agreed!  Never have understood most that change the intended purpose of the ball to a shiny particle as some have done with the Granite.  It defeats the purpose of the ball IMO.

1000 OOB?  That would be about right for most medium to medium-heavy conditions.

Loved the Granite beard or fuzz as some call it.  I know I'll love the Ogre Particle's same coverstock.  Probably look a lil better than the ole concrete look of the Granite.

That is an interesting reaction from a particle ball....IMO.

Most of the particle I've thrown in comparison to reactives have almost always seen the reactive much stronger and cover more number of boards.  I find this with my Blue Centaur as well.  It is very interesting that the video clearly shows how 'reactive' like of a reaction the particle has.

Very interesting!!  Thanks for the vid and the post Britton.

i think this is what everyone wishes their particle ball would do. open up the lanes NOT more then their reactive but just as much.

im not saying that ball will always do that as ive had my carbide plus do that and then the next time out hook almost nothing compared to solid reactives. if it can do that time and time again when theres enough oil then thats an impressive particle ball. perhaps its due to the low flaring ogre core?

I don't have one yet but I'll guess it has a very similar reaction to those that have owned/rolled a Granite.  Granite even with a bit more differential rolled much like Britton's video for me.

Jason W. has said that the coverstock is much the same as the Granite.

I think I'm going to have to pick this one up.  I used to roll a lot of Visionary stuff but started to venture away from them just for the heck of it.  I haven't rolled anything in either the AMB or Ogre line.  I had my first 300 with a Granite before I made a weight change and gave it to my father.  I loved that ball and if the Particle Ogre is close then I know I'll be happy.

Particles aren't really supposed to outhook the reactives.  On an oil condition, ok, they are going to, but the real purpose of the particle ball is to allow the ball to have continuous motion through the pins at impact and allow the ball to roll through....not deflect like almost everything else is going to do because the ball never really grabbed yet.

There are posts out there that probably describe it a lot better than what I just did.....but that's always been my take.

so.... the midlane read is stronger
so.... I like th color for sure.
so.... Visinary's getting more and more interesting for me

How will this ball work for a stroner with a diffferent layout?
I guess I'll wait till more people can tell me more

Very nice video Britton. The OPART looks like a nice smooth rolling wrecking machine.

How do you think the OPART stacks up against the Gladiator Solid if drilled similarly??? I'll be on a tighter house blend this winter and will finally be able to throw some stronger equipment.

Thanks.
