14 Lb. Violet Experiment
« on: January 27, 2006, 02:20:37 AM »
I did it...never thought I'd stoop this low but oh well have to figure out how to get more ball speed and this may or may not work.  I'm around 16-17 at arrows and 15 at the head pin.  Hopefully this will give me 1 mph more.

Ordered a 14 lb. Violet from Betsy this morning....after selling my 15 to harrylegthigh few weeks back.  Had my best set last year with it.

Since, it's what I would consider Visionary's benchmark ball I thought this would be a good ball to experiment with....and you can't beat the price.  Gonna lay it out stacked leverage as I figure with upped speed I should have no problem keeping it on line.....but we will see.  I imagine, I'll pick up a bit of revs also...this is what I am interested in if it will change anything besides ball speed.

The method to my madness is that with all the heavier hooking equipment coming out and with my advancing age I need as much ball speed as I can get.  Wait til you kids get old like me.  I'm a rev dominant player.

I've had all the Gargoyles and they all hit like trucks so I doubt lower weight will effect carry.  But, we'll see.

If anybody is interested, I'll post my findings in the next few weeks.

Not to get off on a tangent, a lot of reviews and mini-reviews say that such-and-such ball hits like a truck.  My question is, how did the Faball Truck hit?  Anyone out there have one that really didn't like it?  Would they describe another ball as "hitting like a truck" after disliking that one?

230...I am a pansy and a d-bag.  I freely admit it.  Takes a big boy to admit his shortcomings and I've got a lot of them.   Hey where's my $20?  lol

shelley--I had a Faball Truck great ball for me.  Lot like the 3D Violet <the violet color of the Violet Gargoyle matches the 3D Violet color>  Good medium to light medium ball.  After the mica was worn off it got better IMO.  BTW--shelley I use the saying hits like a "truck" cuz I had one and it's a good comparison.

One of the reasons, I like Visionary is they are more Faballish than anything else out there...which would stand to reason.
