2 ball lineup
« on: July 20, 2007, 11:32:48 AM »
Hello looking for suggestions for a two ball lineup.  I have never tried visionary before.  I am considering a Gray Granite Gargoyle and possibly a pearl ogre, any suggestions.

The Granite Gargoyle and purple Ogre may make a 2-ball lineup, but there's a very large gap in between them, especially in box finish.  I'd go for the solid and pearl Ogres as a good 1-2 combo for most conditions.

I agree with Shelley, I would go with the Solid and Pearl Ogres. I have two of each and can cover any condition except bone dry lanes. Here's a video of all four of mine.

Hey twister so would these two balls be good to throw down and in with a slight swing.  I want one for medium to oily and one for med to lighter

Remember the Solid Ogre comes to you at 600 grit from the factory and the pearl is 1500 polished so this should cover the conditions you are bowling. And remember these covers can be adjusted if you are not getting the ball reaction you are looking for.

If I was new to visionary and I wanted two balls I would say that these two would probably fit most if not all your needs.  An added benifit is the original green/blue centaur would be a great ball for spares on many conditions if not all.  Both balls are not designed for huge swinging action either.  They are very smooth and in my opinion very powerfull and controllable.  Should you want one of them Ogres then that is also a possible way to go as well, their symetrical cores likely provide even better overall control in terms of mistakes in hand positions.  I personally believe the green/blue centaur is extremely unique and excellent in the dier conditions but that is just me(depending on style got to be carefull when drilling).  Perhaps an even better choice would be the Solid Ogre and the Green/Blue Centaur.  Don't know because I have no Ogres!  Anways Goodluck

My Opinion your best option

GREEN/BLUE CENTAUR = LIGHT TO MEDIUM
CENTAUR AMB Solid = MEDIUM TO HEAVIER OIL

I know the green/blue can be found at cheapbowlingballs.com and there was a topic here where others mentioned other possible places
