New Addition to the Family

I would like to announce the newest addition to our family.  And this time I'm not talking about bowling balls.  On June 2nd my wife gave birth to our third child, Zachary Thomas.  He's 5lbs 5oz. and 19.75 inches long.  He's a premie and on oxygen.  He hasn't been able to breath comfortably with out assistance but atleast he was able to start eating 2 days after birth.  His two older sisters, Kaitlyn 3 and Meghan 2, love seeing him thru the nursery window.  They just can't wait until they can have baby Zac home so they can spoil him.

Well, he hasn't changed much today.  They stopped the feeding tube, they feel it's making matters worse.  He's actually nursing really well today.  I mean what boy doesn't want a boob?  They've been talking about transfering him to a bigger hospital with a neonatal intensive care unit.  It's about 70 miles away.  


Thanks again to everyone who's posted.  It really is a boost to see all the well wishes after a long day of sitting in a hospital watching happy mom's and dad's taking their babies home.

Tommy, congrats on the baby! I'm sorry to hear that you have to go through all these worries with him, though. It must be horrible. I'm sure he will be strong and get through it. Doctors are very good nowadays, so there is no worry. Keep your chin up, and keep us all here updated!

Thanks again Coach.  We are weighing our options.  The doctors have been consulting with the NICU docs at that hospital.  Hopefully we'll have an answer soon.

Thanks everyone!!!  Doctors' say that it may be another week or so before we can take him home.  It's okay though, he's eating like a champ.  And I thought I liked boobs!!!
