Centaur AMB Particle
« on: April 05, 2005, 12:39:46 PM »
Hello everyone,

Just thought I would stop back in and update everyone on the Centaur AMB Particle that will be released late this month.  I have been receiving a lot of emails requesting information on the AMB Particle, so I hope this gives everyone the information that they are requesting.

This new ball is a hooking machine.  I cannot emphasize enough that you will need HEAVY OIL.  The AMB Particle uses the same core design and weight distribution as the original AMB Pearl, and has a med-high load reactive particle coverstock.  The color is what we call dual blue (light blue with darker blue swirls)  If anyone wants a picture of the ball, just email me and I will send you one.

The RG and Differential numbers are nearly identical to the original AMB, and because of that,  this ball will create a tremendous amount of flare.  During testing, some of the individuals throwing this ball nearly flared around the entire ball.

We have had many bowlers throw this ball, and every one of them have said that this ball outhooks any ball that they have ever thrown by atleast 4-5 boards.  If you ever see lane conditions where you can't get anything to hook, this is the ball you will want in your bag.

This ball has been sent to Bowlers Journal and Bowling This Month, and the reviews should be found in next months magazines.  Bowlers Journal should have the review in the magazine that comes out in about 10 days.  Please read their reviews, because this should give you an accurate indication as to how much this ball really hooks.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at vbpadvertising@aol.com

Thanks again for your support,

Is this particle going to be easy to polish? the Garnite, purple ice and scorcher just ate polis

Probably not - but then again Visionary told us not to bother trying to polish the Scorcher. This new ball clearly appears to be a single use ball rather than something versatile. I'd say if the conditions are not right, keep both the polish and the ball in the bag and choose something else.

But the Scorcher was urethane based, which is a TON of trouble to polish. This one is resin based, as far as I know; a lot, LOT easier to sand and polish. BJI said they had to polish it to use on their heavy oil sport shot AND their house shot.

Thanks, charlest, I found a copy of it.

I found it interesting that on a Sport league, a LH took out the 10 pin with it after the ball looked good at the halfway point, then a RH crossed 20 at the arrows out to 5 and took out the 7 pin.  Definitely not like a Midnight Scorcher.

If anyone gets theirs and has a chance to play with it, I would like to know how it reacts after sanding up or polishing it.  The BJI article said they took it to the spinner and polished it but didnt really say much about it after that.

Just like I thought - this is an oil ball. There is no way I would buy this and then mess it up with polish.

Looks like there is a replacement for the Scorcher.

But now I have to ask.

Jason,

With the Centaur, and Gryphons's being such a hit, how much longer will the Executioner remain in the line up?......

Just need to know if I should buy a case or two anytime soon. lol

Hi Eric,

I am sorry to say, that after many years of strong performance, the Charcoal Executioner is in it's last few months.  It will be discontinued this summer, but it had a very long and successful lifespan.

It is one of my favorites as well, and I plan on saving a few for myself.  However, we do need to make room for the new balls we will be releasing over the next year.  If you really want to have some for the future, I would suggest that you stock up on them now, because I don't know how many will be left after June.

Thanks again for everyones support, and Eric, I hope that you can find a new ball in our current lineup that fits your game as well as the Charcoal did.

Oil ball i hope so, Do you guys hate proprietors? (320 sanded) With the average wood lane surface being around 600 grit and synthetic 800-1000 are you just trying to make it tough on the small guy. Brunswick at 400 grit, new Ebo's at 500 grit. Ball manufacturers should have not only the consumer in mind but also the market also. Sorry to rant but sometimes I have to wonder whats in their minds when developing product.
