Comparison
« on: August 22, 2003, 06:19:21 AM »
Can anyone do a comparison for me between the charcoal exe. and the inferno? I know about the coverstock and specs but have never seen the charcoal thrown and don't know how these two compare. I was ready to buy my son a inferno but he likes his crimson exe. so much I started looking at the charcoal exe. and wondered what the on the lane differences would be. My son throws about 17 mph, likes to play around the 3rd or 4th arrow and has a lot of hand but can back off if need be. He is looking for something to fit between his crimson exe and his superpower. Thanks.

P.S.- His crimson is more of a medium oil ball for him and his superpower is his heavier oil ball.

With the earlier roll the Executioner core offers the Charcoal Ex will definitely replace the Super Power.  It has a 600 grit reactive resin cover, and will work well on sport or tourny patterns.  It is also decent on house patterns but you will more oil on the outside to control it rather than the usual 10-10 wet/dry.

The Inferno also offers a nice midlane roll as well but with it being a pearl it will get alot more length down the lane.  The cover was designed to limit over under issues on wet/dry and spotty patterns.  You can scotchbrite the polish off of the Inferno for better traction in oil, but it will still squirt up in some carrydown.

If your son wants a real heavy oiler then go with the Charcoal, if he wants a ball he can use on a variety of conditions then go with the Inferno.  Both pieces of equipment hit hard and carry well.

Worse comes to worse he can always go with a strongly drilled Crimson.  My Crimson is drilled 5x4 and I can play just about every condition with it.
