Title: Crimson Executioner Question

Just picked one of the last 16's available, many thanks to Betsy at VBP.

Being that it is an older ball and most balls made a few years ago tend to handle less oil overall, I was wondering how it would react under today's conditions.

I used a Greenie for a good part of the 2007 season with good results on a lighter medium shot. It could be a little over/under at times but overall I liked the ball a lot.

I picked up the CRIM-EX because I read it started a bit quicker than the Greenie and was a little stronger overall.

For the few of you who still might be using it on today's conditions or up to a few years ago, I was wondering on what types of conditions you find it most effective. Planning on drilling mine under the ring finger with a slight kick of the CG. I put a decent amount on the ball, but nothing awe inspiring (about 350 RPMs) and a little better than average speed.

Mine is drilled stack leverage pin right of the ring, and it is great (but I'm biased )

Yours will get into a roll a bit sooner because of the cg, and being that it is under the ring finger.  I tend to use mine on the med shot, I have a charcoal ex polished at 1000 that comes out before the Crimson.

The executioners make a great 1,2,3,4,5 combo (told ya I was biased )

Looking at your profile, you haven't drilled the charcoal.  I would drill it label leverage, or maybe the same pin to pap but move the pin right beside, or just above the ring finger.  Then control the ball with polish.  None of my charcoals so far are oob they range from 800 and up polish or mattle.

Should be a pretty reliable medium oil ball.  While balls of yesteryear may not have the same oil-handling abilities as today's balls, it's not quite that bad going back three or four years compared to if you tried to go back seven or eight.

Gotta agree with Shelley.  Prior to going all Visionary, any post made by made regarding the original Hammer High-Rev Offset was that it's a great ball for the THS....and it is.  Same for my SledgeHammer....both of which were 8+ years old I believe.

That ball should be more than adept at dealing with the current shot.

Ken, an excellent purchase for med , med length oil. Had one a few years back drilled 4 x 4 clean up front, good midlane and  strong angluar backend, great ball !! Still love the color good looking ball as well.

I'd wager a guess I'd doubt that you'd see all that much difference between the Crimson Ex and the Pearl Glad except that the newer Pearl Glad cover would be stronger overall.  Just a guess from what I've seen from the Solid Glad core and amount of flare.

Sometimes, I really wonder how much oil there is in 2008 say vs. say 2001 in many or most THS I don't see that much of a difference.  I can use many of the same late 90's and early 00' balls today as I did then.

Thanks S33. Since I don't see a ton of oil around this area, the CrimEX may be a better choice for me. And was $30 cheaper

Speaking of older stuff, Charlest graced me with a Whiplash Pearl, one of my all-time favorites. NIB with great specs. Mine got destroyed a few years back, always got me out of jams.

Crim ex still got a 9.5/10 one think I will use it for game 3 this week, I keep forgetting I have one. It is hard to remember when you have too many dang ball's laying around, used the Ogre Pearl for the first time last week and loved it.
