Title: EBAY Visionary listings
Post by: bcw1969 on June 16, 2015, 11:29:45 AM
There are currently some nice ebay auctions for visionary bowling balls....I believe they are being sold by BOLWERSCELLAR.COM if I am not mistaken.....they are all Blems, but at great prices...

16# Bronze Centaur AMB starting at 45.00
16# Blue/Green Centaur Starting at 45.00
14# Centaur AMB Particle Starting at 45.00
16# Original Blue Warlock starting at $40.00
14 & 16# G-3 Gryphon starting at 60.00
14# Glad Solid starting at 50.00
16# Glad pearl starting at 50.00

Just wanted to mention that I came across this in case there were people that had wanted to try those balls but for whatever reason never did--this seems to be your chance.

This guy has a good selection, esp. on his web site but he has a bad habit of never listing the pin and top for NIB balls.

have purchased balls there a long time ago.  I think I emailed him about top and side weights and they responded promptly.

I have also, but in this day and and age, since he is selling new balls, you shouldn't have to take that extra step. (Too often this scenario occurs: You call, he isn't there, you leave a message. 2 days later, he returns your call, leaving you a message; then you call him back.)

Agree with that Jeff!  BTW...I have bought 4 balls from Josh.  I can't get excited about old VBP balls anymore but can understand those that are enamored now with VBP might want to go backwards.  The only old VBP balls that I would want is an old Blue Warlock or an old Blue Sparkle Gryphon....both would do well on wet/dry walls of today.  These balls are what VBP is missing today everything they produce is too strong for the majority of lower volume THS conditions with med. rev - med. speed tweeners.  IMO.

Problem is that the bulk of the bowlers, ie people that really know what they want as they are bowling 2-4 leagues and recognize the holes in their arsenal, may represent what....maybe 25% of the bowling public?  And for VBP, maybe less as they are smaller than the average ball company.  So what Jason and company is doing makes sense because producing a ball that's hopefully going to appeal to a larger audience makes sense in terms of selling balls.

If he produced balls based on what the small majority of this site wanted, they'd be out of business.

As for comments on the THS conditions...Ogre lineup, specifically Pearl or SS would be ideal depending on where it's being played.
