Title: First 300!
Post by: Spike2112 on February 04, 2016, 08:00:27 PM: Shot my first 300 last night league after nearly 30 years of competitive bowling! Thrown with what is quickly becoming my favorite VBP ball of all time- Raven Invasion! Did a recent review of the ball and last night just validates the review. Hopefully it won't be 30 years untilthe next one ;)

Post by: bowler851 on February 05, 2016, 06:12:45 AM: Honor scores have been severly devalued since reactive resin came out in the early 90's, this is why bowling is on the decline. In the 80's you would rarely see a sub 200 bowler shoot 300 now you see it at least once a week.

Good job being a buzz kill. No doubt you shoot a 300/800 at least weekly.

Yes, just ignore those people.

I saw my first 300 in 1986 at the age of 13 - youth league. I was excited to see my childhood friend shoot his first 300 at the age of 14. Today, I still get excited when I see a bowler on the tenth shooting is 1st or 31st 300. Not everyone in the reactive generation have shot a 300 after many years of bowling..... so GR* F"N JOB SIR!!!!

Post by: Spike2112 on February 05, 2016, 03:25:20 PM: Thanks guys. I realize the equipment and house conditions of today have made it a different game than in the day of rubber and polyester balls. Oh well, I wasn't bowling back then. I started bowling in the days when urethane was king and learned how to bowl through self- learning and lots of practice. Even though I bowl in two leagues I still get to the lanes to practice and work on my game. And for the record, I haven't been a sub-200 avg bowler since the 90's.
