Glad. Solid Verus New Breed Solid.

I am currently using a Glad. Solid for my League shot.This ball has 300 games on it and i need a new solid.

Has anyone thrown a New Breed Solid and can you give a comparison of the two balls.

I also would like to know your opinion on the New Breed Particle Pearl, if it is usable on a 35ft. THS pattern.The oil disappears in the middle of second game.

I would say the New Breed Solid is a good step above the Gladiator Solid. The Gladiator Solid, for me was more of a medium condition ball. The NB Solid is a heavy condition ball, for  me. I do not have a ton of revs, so that may change things a bit. The New Breed Particle Pearl is very "user friendly". At the oob it would probably be too much for the shot you are seeing. Our house shot is similar, and the NBPP works very well for me at 4000 abralon for the first game and a half to 2 games then I have to make a change. Hope this helps a bit.

MC,thanks for your response.I am going to get the New Breed solid and try to get the Gladiator LE.I hope the Glad.LE will be usable on a burn up shot.

With 300 games, the ball should still be good.  Have you tried to remove the oil and done any re-surface work on the ball?  Or, like many of us, did you just want a newer ball?  

It sounds like the Gladiator LE was designed for lighter oil conditions so it should work for your burned up shot.

MI AZ,the Glad.Solid is still good.I have it polished for medium conditions and it performs well.I need a stronger ball for the oiler shot.

Yes i won't lie i just want a new ball.

I think you will find an acceptable read from both the Solid and the Particle Pearl.  

Depending on what you can do with hand and speed.....you might like the Particle Pearl more!!

I'll add my 2 cents which ain't worth a heck of a lot BUT I have both and if drilled similarly which mine are not exactly but kinda close.

If both are at OOB 2000 abralon they move similar.  Glad Solid even though a solid reactive is smooth on the backend for me as that's the ball and the Mohawk core.  The Solid Glad was designed to take over for the Solid Char Ex. which had the same movement.  I have a small 1/2" X hole 1" below my PAP on my VAL.  This also smooths it out a bit but not a lot.  Not like a large hole on your PAP.

The NBPP pictured above is drilled similar to the Solid Glad no X hole.  This ball moves smooth also in OOB as it's particle.  I have never been able to make any Visionary particle balls jump when they hit friction they aren't designed to do that.  It's the function of the particle.  So, these two balls are very similar in many ways.  That being said I doubt the NB Solid comparing apples and apples would be that much different from a NBPP with the same surface.  Stacked or a different layout sure more flare more backend.  

I'd say the NBPP maybe hooks 2 more boards for me but not a big difference.  BTM rated the Solid Glad at 49 total hook and the NB Pearl at 48 and the NB Solid at 51.  It will be interesting what they rate the NBPP at.

If you are looking for slightly more hook look at the NBS or NBPP if a bigger difference then the FMG or AMB Centaur Solid.  

Like to know what layout you have on your Glad Solid and then maybe take the next ball up that you choose to a more hooking layout?  

Just my take.
